Bambi Woods - one of the most famous adult movie stars of all time, and one of it's most enigmatic. She burst onto the scene in the 1978 "Debbie Does Dallas", became an international sensation, and then seemed to disappear almost as quickly as she arrived. her final whereabouts shrouded in mystery - in fact many people say she died in 1986 of a drugs overdose.

So, what really happened to Bambi Woods?

Debbie Does Dallas. It's one of the top five grossing porn films of all time, and probably one of the most well known movies titles in any genre. Released hot on the heels of Deep Throat and The Devil in Miss Jones, it blazed a trail that took it into pop culture legend, and has made it's distributors hundreds of millions of dollars in profit. It's spawned sequels, homages, remakes, documentaries, and even an off-broadway musical. It's also the subject of one of the most popular YesButNoButYes stories of all time - Where are they now - Debbie Does Dallas. And it's made Bambi Woods, the titular actress with the blonde hair and the girl-next-door looks into one of the most famous porn stars ever. And probably it's most enigmatic.

Because it's one of the great mysteries of the adult movie industry - whatever happened to Bambi Woods, who is said to have mysteriously disappeared soon after the movie was made? During the making of the 2005 documentary Debbie Does Dallas Uncovered, a team from Britain's Channel Four interviewed as many cast members as they could find, checked police records - even hired a private investigator - all in an attempt to track down the woman who played Debbie. And failed. Pretty miserably.

Since then, the true story of Bambi has gone untold. Dark rumors surround her fate - her Wikipedia entry says she may have died from a drug overdose in 1986, or during the making of a "Debbie" sequel, or that she even retired into obscurity, saved from a life of porn by her parents.

But nobody has ever told the real story.

Sandwiched in between the dying Seattle grunge scene and a just born boy band/pop music scene, Third Wave Ska had it's time in the sun. For a few short years in the late 90's, Ska had hit the mainstream and all seemed right in the world.

I had considered this series complete with three volumes, but requests have trickled in steadily. So after regrouping, I began my research anew to find whatever happened to your favorite adult film stars. It’s not easy, because a lot of former porn stars (understandibly) do not want to be found. In the last week, it's been suggested that the venerable Morrisey will be writing Britain's entry into the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest.

For those of you in the US, Eurovision is a Europe-wide song contest that's been taking place annually since 1956, and is both loved and derided for the acts representing each country every year. The 70s were a particulaly high (low?) point in terms of truly awful manufactured pop music, and it's become an instituion, a bit like the Auntie who farts at family reunions. It also has it's fanatical followers (one user alone has uploaded over 800 Eurovision clips to YouTube), and I have to admit to an extensive Eurovision playlist on my iPod.

So, the following is a collection of personal favorites from my formative years, disguised as a "Where Are They Now". It's my blog, I can ruin it if I want to.

Just about every woman remembers the days of singing along with the radio in her bedroom, holding a hairbrush for a microphone. If that was you, who were you singing to? Probably the centerfold pinup from the latest Tiger Beat magazine!

We know David Cassidy and Donny Osmond, who sold more Tiger Beat magazines than anyone else, are both still recording music and performing. Osmond recently wrapped up his run in the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast, and Cassidy has a full tour schedule. But what about the other teen idols of the 70s and 80s? Yesterday, a friend asked me whether Colts QB Peyton Manning was married. I'm supposed to know these things. So I fired up The Google. Turns out Peyton does wear at least one ring. Ashley Manning, above, is a real estate developer and 1997 graduate of the University of Virginia.

While this information was easy to locate, I was surprised to not find one definitive source for photos of NFL players' wives. Not to mention a little let down.

Which brings me to my YesButNoButYes New Year's Resolution. In 2007, if I'm Googling something and can't find it, I must fill the void. It's time to give back. Without further intro blabber, I offer you this semi-complete (yet nonetheless definitive) list of the women behind the men behind center.

They might be engaged; I've read conflicting reports. If Plummer wants to work again next year, the two should enter free agency as a package deal.

Growing up, I lived in a really small town outside of Albany in upstate New York. Do you know what you do for fun when you're a kid in a small town in upstate New York? That's correct...not much. Friday nights, we'd hang out at the local Pizza Hut after the high school football game ended (I'm not kidding) and Saturdays I'd go to the mall and hang out in three key areas...the video arcade, the food court and Spencer Gifts. Wait...Spencer Gifts? Yeh, Spencer Gifts. Ok, the arcade's obvious, and you gotta eat, so the food court makes sense (I loved me some Orange Julius) but Spencer Gifts? You know it. I remember it like it was yesterday. The lava lamps...the little gag boxes with riddles on the cover and either a little plastic penis or a golf ball sliced in half with hair on it on the inside...and the poster rack.

Oh, the poster rack. Do you guys remember? The 70's was the decade of buxom celebrities on a 2'x 3' sheet of paper, and Spencer Gifts had 'em all. Suzanne Somers...Lynda Carter...and the Mona Lisa of the mall, Farrah Fawcett. They were all aranged on that flippy thing, like they were carpet samples, and after you leafed through it about six times, you'd check the corresponding section below to pick up that weekend's prize. And just so you didn't feel like a total perv, the white side was on the outside of the roll, so if anyone asked you could say it was Zeppelin. Those ladies were a big part of my youth, and it's time I said thanks. So let's take a look at what some of the more famous 70's girls are up to these days. Call it a trip through the memory mall, because it would be a shame to forget.

All I really need to know I learned from watching Schoolhouse Rock.

Why is it I can't remember ten things from four years of a pretty good liberal arts college, but I can recite every word of the preamble? A degree in Anthropology (don't laugh) and I still get the Incas mixed up with the Aztecs, but I know all there is to know about naughty, nasty, mean old number nine. I mean...how sad is that? (Umm...think it had anything to do with being high all the time, douchebag? Uhh...ever heard of a rhetorical question, asshole?)

Schoolhouse Rock was the nanny I never had, minus the sexual fantasies. It was home schooling before it became the in thing to do. Because my Saturday morning were spent glued to a television, I now know that and, but and or will get me pretty far, and that interjections are generally set apart from a sentence by an exclamation point, or by a comma when the feeling's not as strong. So, all things considered, I think I came out ahead.

So, who do I have to thank for this wealth of information. Who are the people attached to these voices inside my head, and are they still around today? Turns out, they are. And they're all still singing away. There are four main singers (jazz musicians, actually)responsible for almost all of the Schoolhouse Rock videos, with a few guest appearances here and there (Verb!
