Don't give me that everyday simple bacon! I want elaborate bacon! The kind that leaves peace in the heart and fragrance in the mouth!
Although there are those who say I already have fragrance in the mouth...

This link was buried in our comments, but I thought it warranted a full feature. Over on The Champagne of Blogs, they're makin' bacon. Not just throwing it in a skillet, but actually sourcing pork bellies and MAKING bacon. Wow.
The blog is part of BS Brewing, a "homebrewing and extreme food collective" from Portland, OR , which is something we here at YBNBY can definitely throw our weight behind.

My fellow Americans, please remove your hats, place your hand over you heart and recite with me...

Having some fun with the bathroom hand dryer. And bacon. If only finding bacon was this easy.
To begin a series they call Pork Week, Salon has a new article about the fascination we have with all things bacon. Oh yeah, there are many reasons -it's tasty, decadent, funny, and part of internet culture. Yours Truly was cited as an "expert", mainly because I wrote a piece about the phenomenon last year, besides posting various bacon news here. Mmmm ...bacon.
From regular commenter Bigus Dickus:
Saw this in Target last night while shopping with my wife. Figured since you guys are obsessed with bacon (and who isn't), you would find interest in this handbag. Enjoy!

Bacon Henge. For no real reason other than We Love Bacon. (Thanks, Gavin)
While this project started as an in-joke between two of my co-workers, I still felt Pictures of Bacon for Karen was worth sharing, since it celebrates two of your universal favorite pastimes: bacon and wasting time at work.
Yes, there is one. St. Anthony.
Known for healing skin diseases and inflammations, he is often depicted with a pig because pork fat was used as a treatment with similar results. Being identified with pigs led the swine herders to take him as their patron. For this reason, he has become the Patron Saint of Bacon.O wonderous St. Anthony, please bless me with an abundance of quality bacon and grant me the patience and timing to properly fry each glorious strip.
Amen.
