When our good friends at ChopShop heard about the death of YBNBY, they offered to help in our destruction.

We said, awesome! And they sent along this appropriate Undead shirt.

You folks now have the chance to win it. Call it our dying wish, to you.

Good luck.

Undead packs in 51 zombies, ghosts, mummies, spirits and other boo-tiful members of the living dead. References range from television, film, video games, popular music, animation, literature, legend and another one from the breakfast table.

You know, we've done this before, before that and well before that..)

And, like before, we'll give this T-Shirt to the person who makes the best contribution.

So have at it. Here are the numbers.

Hint: #8 is not Scaramouch.

KEVIN - No TOR

ANDY K - Not the LORD OF THE NAZGUL, NO NOSFERATU (on vamp tee), No WILL TURNER, No DRACULA (no vamps here at all)

TIM - No GHOSTS OF XMAS (only MARLEY), No historical figures ever (unless embellished in fiction)

on the full list… strike 22, 25 & 33

I think we should let a few more comments flow before I start dropping hints. One note… the hardest ones will be 3 and 25. No vampires here as they are on the weBite design. The undead is like a catch-all as it contains zombies, frankensteins, ghosts, spirits and demons.

said chopshop on May 18, 2010 10:05 PM.

ANDY - very impressive on the JEEPERS and the ATARI hit.

said chopshop on May 18, 2010 10:22 PM.

41. Hamlet's Father (many different versions of this, but it looks about right)

said Tim on May 19, 2010 12:11 AM.

2 is very common, I've seen it a million times, but I can't place the movie.
51 looks like something from the old Atari game, but I can't figure out the character.

said Tim on May 19, 2010 12:37 AM.

TIM: That is hard-core man. 41 is Hamlet’s Father. Hard without a clue… very awesome of you.

said chopshop on May 19, 2010 12:55 AM.

Whew! That one was a little bit of a reach. I've been looking at it for hours trying to get an image match from imdb or somewhere. Things come up that look close, but not close enough to be sure. I finally decided to go out on a limb and make the call.

Spent way too much time today trying to force Dorian Grey in here somewhere. I'll look at it some more tomorrow.

2 is driving me nuts. I know I've seen it.

I think I know 50, but the legs are throwing me off.

said Tim on May 19, 2010 1:08 AM.

Another guess on #25: DC Comics' Solomon Grundy

ANDY: No BRIDE of RE-ANIMATOR, No MEL GIBSON HAMLET

said chopshop on May 19, 2010 12:34 PM.

OK everyone, I need some opinion on this one before we make the call. I think #50 is the narrator from Tales From The Crypt. The book and the size looks right, but the legs are throwing me off. I don't recall ever seeing his legs. Thoughts?

said Tim on May 19, 2010 12:42 PM.

I agree

said chopshop on May 19, 2010 12:45 PM.

You mean that you agree that the legs are wrong and this is something else? (You're so cryptic, chop!)

7 - Is there such thing as the Ghost of Dumbledore? The background lighting makes this one look like a ghost to me.

said Tim on May 19, 2010 1:03 PM.

Dumbledore never appears as a ghost. The only ghost to get any serious play in the Harry Potter movies was Nearly Headless Nick, and he would be characterized by a high ruffled collar.

said Kevin L. on May 19, 2010 1:11 PM.

Thanks for the input. Any thoughts on the Crypt dude?

said Tim on May 19, 2010 1:27 PM.

I don't think it's the Cryptkeeper - the head and hands are not skeletal enough. The bow-tie suggests the tux he often wore, but he changed costumes often as well.

said Kevin L. on May 19, 2010 1:34 PM.

OK, we'll have to leave that one open. I'm not convinced either. Just thought I would throw it out there.

said Tim on May 19, 2010 1:42 PM.

50 - Cryptkeeper as he appears at the end of Demon Knight.

said Andy on May 19, 2010 1:44 PM.

It is… it is the CK! It was hard finding legs… so i had to revert to using some toys and statues produced when the show was a hit.

said chopshop on May 19, 2010 1:46 PM.

I think my head is starting to spin.

said Tim on May 19, 2010 1:57 PM.

Wait a minute! 4 is the Poltergeist demon!

How did we miss that one?

said Tim on May 19, 2010 2:27 PM.

They are all Waldo of "Where's Waldo" fame on various Halloween nights.

said literallyaddicted on May 19, 2010 3:31 PM.

See. Not so hard.

I can’t believe nobody got #2 yet. Posers.

said chopshop on May 19, 2010 3:49 PM.

12 still unsolved:

2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 13, 15, 27, 30, 34, 38, 51

Are 5, 13, 38, and/or 51 cartoons?

What are 3 and 34 holding?

Why is 7 glowing?

Is 30 missing an arm?

KEVIN: No JOR-EL (although, that is a good idea)

said chopshop on May 20, 2010 7:25 AM.

#34: Herman Munster? (head doesn't seem flat enough, and the flood pants a little too high, but you seem to have a row of "creatures" there.)

said Kevin L. on May 20, 2010 8:04 AM.

you know… few people realize there is usually a symmetric relationship between one on one side and the one opposite. Like the skeleton is opposite the skeleton. Sometimes this relationship is based on a character’s nature, or purpose… etc. So you can also use this info to solve for some of these by looking at the one opposite. Although, this doesn’t always work because I run out of relationships or there is no way to do it like opposite the twins.

said chopshop on May 20, 2010 8:10 AM.

With that advice, #13 is the Bride of Frankenstein (opposite Corpse Bride on the left.) The gloves and gown match, but the hair highlights look like the eyes on an E.T. style alien, which is why it took so long.

#7: Obi-Wan Kenobi ("You can't win, Darth. If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine. ")

said Kevin L. on May 20, 2010 10:28 AM.

SWAG: Is #30 from one of the "Evil Dead" movies? I've never seen the movies, but you haven't touched that franchise yet. Alternately, it appears to be dancing, and the left side has Michael Jackson in "Thriller" - and there's an "Evil Dead" stage show rattling around out there.

said Kevin L. on May 20, 2010 12:27 PM.

That is a tough one. I will have to say more… it is no one particular character. So that makes it tough to distinguish. I wanted more zombies, but there aren’t really any famous zombies, so this one kind of represents all zombie references that had no central villain.

The reference is from a video game. A big one.

said chopshop on May 20, 2010 12:33 PM.

#30 - Zombie - Resident Evil

said Andy on May 20, 2010 1:25 PM.

said chopshop on May 20, 2010 2:18 PM.

6 - Ghost of Dr. Malcolm Crowe from Sixth Sense

said Andy on May 20, 2010 3:57 PM.

5, 15, 38, and 51 are still open, and I'm tapped.

5 is clearly a videogame category, and I don't play much.

15 I thought I'd guess Jason Voorhees, but I think you used him on another t-shirt, and he's often pictured with a chain around his neck.

38 - If it was a momentary appearance, I missed it.

51 - another videogame character.

BTW - you could have paired the twins with Gage Creed - both Stephen King characters.

said Kevin L. on May 20, 2010 4:47 PM.

#15 - Uncle Frank from Helraiser....

Yea my brain is turning to jello with thse last few...

#5 Mass Effect zombie

said chopshop on May 21, 2010 11:07 AM.

#5 Left for Dead zombie

said Andy on May 21, 2010 11:25 AM.

#15 - Night of the Living Dead zombie

said Andy on May 21, 2010 11:26 AM.

"Night of the Living Dead" was 1968. "Dawn of the Dead" seems more likely, but I can't point at anything specific.

said Kevin L. on May 21, 2010 12:19 PM.

Oh… I could be wrong about 70's. #15 is a specific character though.

said chopshop on May 21, 2010 12:37 PM.

And 100.

So… #5 is from Warcraft and is one among the Army of the undead.
