From the YBNBY Department of Chicken Little
The forecast calls for a snowstorm throughout the Northeast this weekend. Perhaps a foot in some places. They'll be wind too.
Translation: Either we get 2 feet of powder or hours of torrential rain.
Snow is nothing new or scary. It's just Winter. But not if you're in the weather reporting business.
Accuweather reports and maps are making a full-court scare for this "all-out storm." Forget spreading a word of caution, they're ready to make everyone panic.
Of course, maybe it's just their way of trying to boost the local economy. There's nothing like a storm to make people stock up on foods and supplies like they'll never be able to leave the house again.
My advice: stay off the roads and watch your back as you shovel. Otherwise, when the snow stops, meet me in Prospect Park for a snowball fight.
