This is an exceptionally produced television show. Not only is it beautifully shot, but the chemistry between the three hosts is some of the best on television - worldwide. At its core, Top Gear is about cars. But it's what the show does to these cars that makes it so entertaining. They race them against fighter jets, launch them through trailers (or "caravans) and attach rockets to them and send them off ski jumps. And with their own test-track outside the studio, they place a "star in a reasonably priced car" and have them race around the track to beat other celebrities' times.
I've pulled some of the better clips after the jump.
They throw a rocket powered Mini off a ski jump.
Host Richard Hammond crashes (and survives) at 288mph.
The Top Gear team heads to America to see if they can drive from Miami to New Orleans in used cars which cost under $1,000.
Mark Wahlberg takes a trip around the Top Gear track.
The Audi R8 vs. Porsche 911 Carerra.
Bugatti Veyron vs. Eurofighter Typhoon Jet.
It's the Brits vs. the Germans in a double-decker race.
Simon Cowell proves he can not only destroy ratings, but racetracks as well.
How to piss off the Vietnamese.
Supercars are great, until you drive them in the city.

I recommend checking out the team's Caravan holiday - part 1 is here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TehZL0bCnkg.
Top Gear's version of a star in a reasonably priced car is a tad better than Leno's, huh? ;-)
CF- Goes without saying. Leno rips off more bits than the Predator. (Still working on that one, it can improve)
This is a great show. Have seen it for a couple years. If i'm not mistaken it's been around since the 80's or so. They show damn nice cars and even though i'll never get to ride one of them these blokes make the hour quite entertaining. Bad part is that BBC america seems to rerun way too many episodes.
On an interesting note they found a good Ford! called Mondeo by the brits.
If you want to see funny top gear try find the video where they try and turn a reliant robin into a remote control plane, fitted with a launch rocket for take off.
Needless to say, it doesn't all go as planned and there is one of the most awesome flying car explosions you will ever see.
Or when they try crossing the English channel in self made aqua cars.
Clarcksons toyboata is the shit.
Frank- I have to give you that one, the English Channel crossing was hilarious.
ernesto - its been going since the late 90's im pretty sure its only up to season 14.. but don't worry about missing too much, the first few seasons were shit. not regular shit, they were proper shit.
it started getting good when clarkson decided to break things
