$900K by January 1st to keep the Saddleback Church, which holds 10,000 people each Sunday, is needed in about 24 hours. This is crucial to keep the enormous church in the black.
The letter stated in part,
"Dear Saddleback Family, THIS IS AN URGENT LETTER."
"With 10 percent of our church family out of work due to the recession, our expenses in caring for our community in 2009 rose dramatically while our income stagnated,"
This is a crisis. How is someone supposed to stretch the profits from selling more than 30 million books anymore? Especially at only $9.47 a pop.
Just going to throw this out there; maybe Pastor Warren could rent out the Saddleback facility to the Los Angeles Clippers for morning shoot-arounds.
So there you have it. A cool million to keep the Super Pastor preaching. You can make checks out to YesButNoButYes and send them into us and we will pass them on if that's easier for you.
I wonder if that J.K. Rowlng is in trouble despite selling all those books the clearly promote witchcraft? Something to think about while you write your check to Rick Warren.

As much as it's absurd to ask for $900k in one day, I'd cut Warren some slack. There are plenty of bogus preachers out there, but he's actually pretty respectable. After his book went big, he stopped receiving a salary from the church (he's supposedly a volunteer now) and paid back the amount he had received since starting the church. He also (purportedly) gives away 90% of what he makes from his books and drives the same Ford pickup he did before becoming famous. Chances are he wouldn't have that $900k on his own. There are plenty of preachers that are little more than thieves, but I don't think Warren's one of them.
Same story different pastor..
I need money by tommorrow please give me xxxxxx amount or we will all die. BTW drink the cool aid lie on the floor and it will all be over soon.
Dirty Shits.
You know why this church is almost bankrupt? Because they probably blew all their cash trying desperately to get Prop 8 (the same sex marraige ban) passed. They deserve everything they get. I live close to this megachurch and I kind of hope it would just go under. If Rick Warren wasn't such a loudmouth and didn't try to push his beliefs on everyone around him, I wouldn't care either way. I just want him to shut up for a while. Maybe this will cause hime to see that he is not the perfect person he seems to think he is. And as far as not taking a salary, I don't care about that, either. If I were making the kind of money he does i wouldn't take a salary either. You know who else doesn't take a salary? Governor Arnie and Bill Gates, among others. So that doesn't impress me in the least.
Perhaps he should do an Oral Roberts and claim that if he doesn't get $900,000 the Lord will call him home.
You mean "in the black", not "in the red", right?? In the black means you have enough money while in the red means you are running at a loss.
You got me pally. Typo. My fault. I fixed it. Thanks.
By the way, it looks like this $900 grand plea may have worked.

Apparently, the Lord giveth and the Lord giveth.
