If you are one of those unfortunate folks in the 10% bracket, I wish you luck in your search for gainful employment. I've been there, it sucks. But everyone's expendable these days, "aside from the guy with the thickest shaft in the porn industry."
So keep your head up. Don't give up. Chances are, the reason you were let go has more to do with a bad decision someone with a C-level title made. Not you.
But I digress.
While you are out of work, why not use that time for something constructive. Be an extra on a film set. Comment in our forum. Or try one of the other 10 Things to Do If You Become Unemployed.

1. volunteer for aiding the infirmed, homeless, or dispossessed. Helps mend the spirit and looks great on a resume.
2. check your resume. Is it too "flat"? add lines and boxes, insert lots of white space. Compartmentalize ambitions, skills, then experience. Put a line between each. For your name address and phone number, consider using Impact font. Makes it stick out a mile!
3. Run around the block a couple of time daily. You can't afford to get glum ...interviewers pick up on that stuff. Aerobic exercise is prob. the most economic and (surprise!) the most effective way to ward off depression.
4. If you get turned down, DO NOT show your ass! Don't yell, get snide or act rejected. Say: Please keep me in mind for any further opportunities. Your company strikes me as an excellent place to work and I know our affiliation will be mutually satisfactory. Then call them two weeks later and see if the job is working out for their pick...30 percent of the time it doesn't! Either way, saying hello leaves a warm impression and let's the employer know your sincere.
5. If you are a veteran, the state job placement services have counselors designed to specifically help veterans in placement as well as providing other services, i.e., training, help in research, etc. Not a veteran? Hey, you can aways move back to Canada, candy-ass.
6. Many community colleges provide free talent exams that enlighten you to others skills your background and education may be suited for. Work in Administration til the ax fell? You may be qualified for Human Resources and not know it. Call and talk with your local school's career counselor for info.
7. Live on the cheap!! Quit smoking, eat veggie, buy needed items (furniture or kitchen impliments) from second hand shops. Bicycle when possible...save gas money for interviews and work only.
Mainly just tough up. Fax resumes daily. Use the internet for research. Your best friend is the computer. Worst comes to worst you can deliver for Pizza Hut.
