Every year, September 19th is set aside as Talk Like A PIrate Day. Don't be shy about it! As you can see, plenty of people who can't talk like a pirate any better than you do are trying it. To learn pirate lingo, start with The Five As. Scaramouch can do a pretty good pirate patois, as long as he's typing. If all else fails, just cheat and use the Pirate Translator. And always have some pirates jokes and stuff ready.

I happened to be in Vegas on Talk Like a Pirate Day. I saw several people dressed up as pirates, but was not fortunate enough to hear any of them using their pirate vocabulary.
I did receive a picture from a friend of a yard sale sign that said "Huge Yarr Sale". I'd like to think they actually did that on purpose.
Is it just me that finds it a bit funny that talk like a pirate day comes right before deaf awareness week?
