From The Sports Desk...
College football kicked off last night. It is happy times. On the Smurf Turf in Boise, the Broncos topped the Oregon Ducks 19-8. (I'm not going to lie, as a Husky fan, I loved it.) Right out of the gate, this was a game with BCS implications.
There was also tempers flaring. Bad blood goes back to last year after this viscous hit and cheap shot. After the game, Bronco linebacker Byron Hout appears to say something antagonistic to Duck running back LeGarrette Blount. Blount couldn't think of a yo mama joke quick enough and dropped Hout like a wet newspaper.
Down goes Hout!
This isn't really a surprise, Blount has been suspended before. He'll be suspended again. Maybe permanently...

Snap! The dude's out for the season. Remember, think before you punch.
every program has at least a couple cases like blount. some awsome talented kid who has tons of potential but has a checkered past. i love how coaches will give kids 2nd chances but i hate the coaches who hide behind the ultimate goal of giving 2nd chances. it's a class act by the ducks to kick his ass off the team but keep him on scholarship so he can have a 3rd chance at making it through school and have a shot at the pros.
i only hope mr. blount will pull his head out of his ass and follow through with this generous gift the school has offered him. if he doesn't, thats his tough shit, the school did the right thing in my opinion.
i hope that the coach from boise does the right thing for his shit talking instigator. he should, he has always seemed like a class act.
The real cost of this for Blount is probably going to be financial. He was projected to be a first or second round pick. He'll slide a couple rounds now. A huge difference in contracts.
Yeah. Thats one costly punch.
Also, I agree with Phat - if that other dude was talking trash he's not exactly innocent here either.
Work it out on the field gentleman.
