Pro athletes don't just battle other teams. They also battle their weight.
Tennessee Titan running back Lendale White is no exception.
Lendale, a running back, weighed roughly 265 pounds last season. That extra weight was slowing him down and hurting his play.
So he went on a diet.
Well, not a diet actually, he just stopped drinking tequila.
Cold turkey. Or agave.
As a result he lost about 30 pounds in six months. Lendale reported to training camp a trimmer 228.
Lendale blames Patron for his extra bulk.
When asked he said, '"It wasn't a lot of major diet changes. It was watching what I drink. I was a big Patron consumer. ... That's what it was it."
So let that be a lessen to all you budding alcoholic athletes out there. Cut out the booze and your weight will come off.
No AA meetings. No interventions. No horrible hangovers.
Just no more of the worm.

I can see it. Alcohol has a lot of calories :(
i'm trying to imagine just how much patron he was drinking for him to lose that much weight in that short amount of time. my kidneys are starting to hurt.
As alcohol goes, tequila is relatively low in calories -- not like beer or Kahlua. He had to be drinking a lot of tequila or, the missing piece, is all that drinking caused him to eat chips, snacks and fattening foods. I totally get that.
I'm recording my own weight loss struggles at http://www.weightforsuccess.com.
I thought this was a Tequila diet as in DRINK tequila to loose weigh. Ugh! Fix the title!!!
