According to reports, tickets for James Cameron's much over-hyped film Avatar are already on sale. The movie doesn't hit theaters until December 18.
About 75 AMC theaters, most of which have an IMAX 3D screen, are offering tickets four months in advance on MovieTickets.com and Fandango. Better hurry! These are going fast! Pop up the tents in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre! Four months of camping to see the next abuse, plunder and rape of CGI effects.
Next week tickets are going on sale for Jurassic Park 4. No, they haven't starting shooting it yet, but you have to get a jump on these things.
Here is what you can already buy tickets for:
My little brother Drew described the Avatar teaser best. "It looks like a bad video game for the broadway play Cats." Yep...

God help me, I just KNOW my husband is going to want to go see this movie. I swear if he makes me come along I will retaliate... The new Twilight is coming out soon though which should give me a measure of safety.
I'm actually interested to see this. Not for its plot by any means, but because it is supposed to revolutionize 3D cinema. Apparently the 3D effects are not intrusively waving in your face, but rather subtlety done so it can be more immersing. It may bring some thrill back to going to the theater for movies, since a good home theater setup can rival the big screen for quality.
Hmm. The graphics look nice. But I'd guess (I could be wrong), that the story is hokey and slow.
On the plus side, blowing shit up in CGI has a minimal carbon footprint.
E should write this crap for me...
I think it looks cool don't know anything about the anime original material but i't on my list of films to check out. I like Cameron's work, he's done some of the coolest movies in the last 20 years and if only for it's technical advances it should be interesting.
This kinda reminds me of how at the end of movie trailers, when they say, "This film is not yet rated," it often sounds to me like, "This film is not yet written." Might not be too far off pretty soon...
Actually this looks like it would be a really incredible video game. I'm not so sure about the plot of the film, though... it does look slow.
I will concede you can't tell much from a 2 minute teaser. But I'm really skeptical.
