Atlas Obscura

Any frequent readers of this site will no doubt realize that I'm slightly obsessed with strange places. If my Top Ten Coolest Places on Earth article, my piece on Urban Exploration, or any of the From the Air challenges are any indication, there's a wealth of fantastically amazing places out there. And, up until now, I had no idea where to look to discover these places. Luckily, the folks at BoingBoing have Joshua Foer as a guest blogger for the week. Joshua is a freelance science journalist and the co-founder of the Atlas Obscura: A Compendium of the World's Wonders, Curiosities, and Esoterica. An amazing wiki-like site that lists all the amazing places (both well known and hidden) around the world. From the amazing boulder fields in eastern Pennsylvania to the catacombs beneath Paris. This is a site one could spend months looking at. Consider me hooked.
