Could there be anything worse for a teen than being pummeled by a gang of thugs?
Yes, if that gang happens to be "The Falcons" a bunch of color coordinated dancers.
Someone please help that kid from Mr. Belvedere cause he's the new blood on Falcon turf and I think he's gonna get it.
We can thank the ABC after school "Ace hits the big time" special for this one.

This was EXACTLY how I remember the 80's.
My 'hood was on the mean streets, and by "mean streets" I mean the corner of Main and Park Avenue. And when I say "hood" I mean next to a Circuit Court Judge and a Bank.
But yeah, red and blue were the colors associated with gangs back then - so purple has to be a bunch of bad-asses.
That's some good Spike Lee material.
It's called "The Color Purple Bugaloo - The Musical" and was run in the mid-80's, on some bad NY neighborhood.
It's about a dance-impaired boy who moves with his family to a bad-ass-dancers-gang controlled area, where the ones who can't dance, "get danced"!
He has to struggle against his inability to dance following the colors, and gets the gang's leader's respect little by little, while he's getting purple bruises because of the dance-beating attacks, but he never gives up, and goes on, until he proves he's worth wearing a purple spandex too.
Nice film, it has got five stars out of four when Big Picture, Big Sound rated it to the 80's pop culture magazine "Maybe, but Perhaps, but Maybe".
