Granted the clip is a couple of years old but this reminded me of why Beck is fuckin’ awesome! Bypassing the traditional stand there, sing your song and leave format most SNL performers do, he gains credibility (in my book anyways) for adding style and innovation to his performance (plus the marionettes help). God bless artists like him and others out there that just don’t give a fuck and do what they do.

Doesn't this make him more of a performance artist than a straight-up musician? Much in the same way that Gallagher is a performing comic, but Richard Prior was more of a pure stand-up comic.
