The Founding Fathers refers to those incredible men who participated in drafting our Constitution. Men who gave birth to this country. We speak of them with reverence and respect. A group that includes George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, John Adams, Alexander Hamilton and James Madison. And apparently, Rush Limbaugh. Wait, what?
I thought that hearing Rush compare the Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor to former KKK Grand Wizard/Wacko/Wanker David Duke was going to be the craziest piece of political analysis this week. Then I was on Media Matters and read something that topped it. Rush said:
Our Founding Fathers were fortune-tellers, they were prophets, they were wise beyond measure. Never fails to amaze me when I go back and read their warning of the future after they had crafted the U.S. Constitution. I'm very much like these people, my friends, in my ability to prognosticate and prophet the future. Thomas Jefferson warned 188 years ago that the federal government and the germ of its dissolution was in the way the federal judiciary is constituted. Ergo, 188 years later, he's right: We have Sonia Sotomayor, who thinks that the court is where policy is made.
I can't top Media Matters' joke for this, so I'll just steal it. "Ego on loan from Narcissus." Whoever wrote that line should get a cookie.
Extra Tidbit: Did you know that the phrase "Founding Fathers" was coined by Warren G. Harding in 1916?

The name is confusing. I see Rush and I think - classic Canadian hard rock. Cool though. Now I'm going to bustle through my tunes.
Obama was the best thing to happen to him since Clinton.
Isn't relying on Media Matters for analysis of what Rush Limbaugh is saying a bit like relying on Keith Olbermann for unbiased and objective commentary on what Barack Obama is doing?
I mean, c'mon. Love Rush or hate him, Media Matters is a poor source to rely on.
Rob, more than fair point. But this is a direct quote. He actually did say this.
Thanks for reading...

He does a second rate Numa Numa song too. I'm gonna stick with the old school:

I had been a fan of John McCain for years… I hated the way he ran his campaign and his running mate. Obama inspired me and I voted Obama. I used to like lots of Republicans until they all got voted out in 06 and 08 and we were left with the screw bags that are left. Bush was the worst president since Harding and Hoover. I know that makes me a screaming liberal to the nut bags that run that party these days, but I am not… I am a moderate and as a moderate I find it EASY to say that Rush Limbaugh is a fucking pig.
And I am not referring to his weight.
Well said Chop Shop. I wrote a piece last year about how I abandoned the two parties and am an independent moderate.

A villain is a villain if you ask me. And Rush is a pill-popping Dick Dastardly. So, thanks for your comment.
Now send me some damn t-shirts...

For the record this whole issue w/people crying foul about Sotomayor's comment (about setting policy with decision) is ignorant and hypocritical. The vast majority of law and policy has been made by judges, not congress, and its generally a very good thing. The people objecting to this, mostly congresspeople and senators, who are quite often lawyers, know how this game is played. They know that judges rulings from 10, 20, 50 or 100 years ago are the bedrock of the judicial system today and not the laws as congress passed them. And in the ultimate proof of this, these 'outraged' politicians of course not only benefit from this when the issue is skewed right, but ask these pol's if they've done anything to overturn these rulings by making laws that trump the legal decisions that are now considered law. They don't and they won't because judges make law all the time. Sotomayor only got caught on tape for saying what all legal professionals already know to be gospel.
We should all pity and forgive Mr. Limbaugh. We should. God won't.
"Rush Limbaugh is a fucking pig"...and you think that is well-said? It doesn't say anything about Rush but says alot about the mental acuity of the accuser.
Bush has his problems but we had a good economy even after 9/11; we had no terrorist attacks in the US; he wasn't diddling interns; he gave us good justices in the Supreme Court. He screwed up by beginning the socialist bailout of failing companies. Obama is just Chavez-lite. He's all style and no substance, a law lecturer with leftist friends, racist pastors and he's from the same political machine that brought us Rod Blagojevich.
A moderate is just someone who either has no principles or can't decide which ones he believes in. No moderate signed the Constitution. It took courage to rebel against the Crown and it will take courage to take our country back.
Rush has a 99% accuracy rating. If this comment of his is incorrect, then that is the 1% he does not get right.
Anyway, there is no sense in trying to convince those who refuse to see. Maybe when the leftist utopia comes true (see California) we'll figure out where we went wrong.
You bet David. Like that great Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers. That was an ace.
Look at these two douchebags. That's ridiculous.
At least Rush can go out in public without being picked up for vagrancy.
Rush couldn't get picked up with a forklift....
I'm really glad Obama got elected though, It guarantees Rush, O'Reilly and Hannity employment anyway.
He may be a hate-spewing blowhard, but he seems to have a LOT of fun doing it, so i say let him have fun.
I am sure that Rush loves that President Obama was elected. It gives him more listeners to hear his bile.
To be fair though, he wouldn't have so much bile to spew if Obama wasn't doing such an abysmally shitty job.
Both sides of the farce called American politics are to blame for this schmuck having any hint of credibility, be it real or imaginary.
