It's worth remembering
War Memorial
Regular readers will know we're a bunch of bleeding heart liberal peaceniks over here, pretty much anti-war and anti-conflict.
So i just wanted to take a moment on Memorial Day, to make sure no-one ever confuses that ideology with our gratitude for those who give their lives in service of their Country.

I love this country so much. In one of our most famous Hymns The Battle Hymn of The Republic, it says "Christ Died to make men holy, Let us live to make men free. " I will remember those who have "Died to make men free."

Me too. Nicely put Scara.

Beautifully said, Scara..and your picture looks great..

Why doesn't anti-conflict include making snide remarks to posts you libs don't agree with? (Not you, E. You seem to be a true pacifist) The rest of you are just hypocrites.

A once upon a time Marine says: Freedom isn't free.

Oh boy...
Here we go... Now I regret all the times I cheered when Tom failed catching Jerry...

said Leonardo Carvalho on May 25, 2009 8:48 AM.

I made snide comments and I'm far from 'lib'.

Freedom isn't free, but ignorance costs even more.

All in good fun, man. All in good fun.

Liberal, Conservative, whatever

An Idiot's an Idiot and i'll call 'em out left and right.

How ya been Jerry? come up with any new insults lately?

said Sheriff Pablo on May 25, 2009 3:26 PM.

Since I'm a veteran (thus having absolute moral authority) I just want to say this to Jerry:

Good job shitting all over a sincere, heartfelt post by someone who isn't letting ideology get in the way of honoring our fallen servicemen and women.

"Freedom isn't free". By writing "...our gratitude for those who give their lives in service of their Country", it seems they already realize that.

It's their blog, they can write whatever they want. If you don't like it you have the "freedom" to not read it. And if you love your freedom, thank a Vet.

You're welcome Jerry.

Amen Ken. From one Vet to another, Amen.

Keep coming back. I'm tired of being the only one who's had his boots in the dirt around here.

Unless another of the L77 is a vet and never told me.

said Sheriff Pablo on May 25, 2009 9:50 PM.

Thanks Sheriff, I appreciate that. I'm a long time lurker here, but I've only commented a few times.

I guess I just got irritated today because Scara took time out to write a nice post about Memorial Day and someone dumps on it and calls him a hypocrite. And he calls him a hypocrite because he makes "snide remarks" as if that was analogous to actual warfare.

I don't like getting into internet pissing contests, but there was something about him stinking up a good, sincere post with that comment that rubbed me the wrong way.

Hey Ken, now that you're getting more of the comment spirit, sign up and be a regular... If you don't mind being between us weirdos... hahahah

Try the forum...

That's great having people like you around, helps us to make a front to the eventual douches.

Great post, Scara! Great comments, Ken!
Sincerely,
Snide, hypocritical, bleeding heart, liberal scum
