The Misuse of Quotation Marks
quotes_ybnby.jpg
I tend to be a bit of a Grammar snob. You may not "know" what I'm talking about. Hell, "you" probably don't even "care". But, America has "fallen" on hard times - grammatically "speaking" - and it's time we changed our "ways". A first step is this site, which "scours" the interwebs looking for misused quotation marks.

Not much the grammer snob me. Quote abuse like I do not. People who make the "air quote" gesture in real life must die with a poised immediacy.

This post reads eerily like Obama's teleprompter.

Air quote.

Gets 'em every time.

Let's kill them bastards... Ok, make it like this. I'll turn the moon into a "death star" by placing a powerful "laser" there. We can shoot them from up there with the "laser".

As a fellow "grammer snob" I get real pissed off with "misused" quotation marks they piss me off really bad because I'm a grammer snob too.

I really hate it when people mistpell words like "grammer" too.
What really pisses me off is when I find out when someone with really bad "grammer " makes "alot" more money than I do even when he or she has shittier "grammer" beacause that would mean some other ability trumped my grammatical skills.
I get really pissed off when people use bad grammer when they are commenting on a blog and text messaging.
They should run that shit through "Microsoft Word " before they post it.

Perhaps Scaramouch could embed a spell or grammar check in YBNBY.

What really pissed me off yesterday, was when I watched the "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Valentines day special. (MUst have been a rerun) That damn Dog the Bounty hunter, kept calling Valentines day, "Valentimes Day". Who does that??

So during the show Dog the Bounty hunter buys Beth this Diamond braclet. It was ugly as hell but It had a load of diamonds in it. I realised that Dog probably makes more money than I do. As I sat back judging Dog, I thought how the hell does this white trash dude by the name of Dog make more money than me. I mean I'll bet he can't integrate by parts or solve a differential equation, or calculate a radiation heat transfer problem.
I thought about that as I watched Dog manipulate criminals to get his man. Or woman in this case.
I realised that Dog knew his stuff when it came to manipulating criminals. Then I thought, would Dog look down on me as he watched me try to manipulate criminals because I wasn't as good at it? Would Dog be a criminal snob?

Then the thought came to me: What gives any of us the right to be a snob??

Just because we are good at one thing does that give us the right to look down on someone who is not as good or educated as we are in the same field?

Does money give us that right?
Does a mastery of the English language give us that right?
Does a terminal degree in Mathmatics give us that right?
Does living where we live give us that right?

As I sat back asking myself these questions, I thought "What would Dog Do?"

Towards the end of the show, dog caught his fugitive. She was a lesbian junkie. She had nothing but her girl friend. Did dog judge her?

Nope. He gave her a hug and offered her help.

Because that's what Dog's do.

Dogs love unconditionally. Dogs forgive. Dogs are loyal.

Most importantly...
"Dogs don't judge."

You can shame and hurt me with your fickle grammar standards, but you will never take my freedom to continue making them.

If all dogs go to heaven and dogs don't judge, than Dave is going to hell for judging?

Echo, did you find them via my recommendation to look at passive aggressive notes.com?
Both are in my bookmarks...my favorite is the post about the husband's mother...
