There are fans films - and then there are Fan films. Made on a budget of $3000 (holy crap), the 45 minute long "The Hunt For Gollum" premieres next week at the SciFi London Film Festival. Judging from this trailer, I'd certainly lay out a few bucks to buy this on DVD.

Oh I'm all for it. The production quality is freakin' amazing and the story line (at least, what I'm guessing the storyline to be) should be pretty entertaining. Still, I expect to see the Peter Jackson's actors in the roles and it's a bit jarring when they aren't.

All in all it looks pretty nice though. It says it is being released online May 3rd. I'll watch it.
It's been many years since I read The Hobbit. I wonder how this story lines up with the original original.

LOTR totally reminds me of the 70's:

For 3 grand, that's beyond amazing.
Far beyond amazing... I'd buy me a DVD too. No doubt.
