Modern Women, Old Style

freida-pinto.jpg

Listal has a collection of 50 actresses, singers, and models posing as pinup girls in the style of the 1940s and 50s. It appears they've been culled from all sorts of advertisements and photo shoots. There's something about the look that keeps us coming back for more!

That is hot!

Cindy, you're right--and a lot of these pics look familiar to me from Vanity Fair (when they do the single page feature an actress article).

Yet it seems to me that if most of us went out in the every day world--beach, etc dressed like this, we'd end up as Glamour don'ts because we're not revealing enough...

Guys, what do you think?

It's a good look imho. I think Katy Perry dresses a little like this in real life. She hot.

As beautiful as those women are, they're too skinny to properly pull off that look.
Well, in my opinion, anyway.

I prefer my women to look like, well, women ... not pencils in dresses.

If I had a figure like any of these women, I'd wear this clothing *all* the time..picking up the kids at school, grocery shopping, weeding...

Cindy, if *these* women had a figure like this, they'd wear it all the time, too...

When I win the lottery, I will have someone who airbrushes my actual body for real life. Not a plastic surgeon, but an airbrush artist who puts that sheen on my legs (which are in great shape, but don't glimmer like this).

I go with TeaFizz, they're really skinny and I prefer real women... but the look! I love the pinup styled photos.
Hotter than the ones that show up everything at once.

Sure, there are the airbrush, the photoshop and all of that, but that's how things go these days.

In my opinion, imperfection shows reality, and we know that few women are strong enough to deal with that and still know how to be hot.
Only those women who really don't give a shit for such craps as being THE one on a club/beach/wherever, those who know that their hotness lie inside and know how to use it, aw boy, that's what I like. That's why I got married...

For some of these ladies, this should be an everyday look. Spectacular.

It's interesting for me, as a fan of pin-ups, to see these and say "Ahh, yes, I remember that one..." "Oh, that's from the Runcil Nedge illustration..."

Also, most of the pin-ups were more slender than was the norm back then, so funnily enough these modern skinny chicks really do look the part.

Nice collection, thanks for pointing us there.

I don't know. I like skinny on some girls. But not on every girl. It really depends on a lot more factors than just that. But then again I have a tendency to see skinny girls and just wish I looked like that and that could be confusing what's actually hot and what's just my desires for myself. I don't know. D: Body image and all are so confusing.

I'm just smitten.
If photoshop is wrong then I don't wanna be right. This is craft.
Thanks for posting Miss C.

This was a stunning collection then came Kim Catrell, WTF? That seemed out of place. All this young, up-in-coming starlets and then they go and shoot Grandma?

Kim's a doll and all but it seemed out of place to include her.

Jane Fonda and Claudia Schiffer are no spring chicks either.
