From The Sports Desk...
The Yankees opened up the palatial new stadium today by laying a stinkbomb against the Cleveland Indians. They lost 10-2. In 1923, the Babe homered in the first game at the old/real Yankee Stadium and the boys in pinstripes won 4-1. Over the Red Sox, by the way.
Before the first pitch was tossed, former Yankee great and accomplished classical guitarist Bernie Williams treated the sold-out crowd to "Take Me Out To the Ball Game." #51 had an album released on Tuesday and the classic sports anthem is track #12. (See what I did there?) There is even a video. It's a beautiful renditon.
Here's to baseball...
(Extra Tidbit: I love telling people the story how "Take Me Out To the Ball Game" was written by two men, Tin Pan Alley songwriters Jack Norworth and Albert Von Tilzer, who had never seen a baseball game. In fact, the song was written in 1908, Norworth went to his first game in 1940.)

That was very nice.
While a nice axe doesn't come with talent, I just thought I'd point out that Williams is rocking a "Rainsong" guitar. Made from Carbon Fiber. They'll set you back about $3,000. High-end Classical guitars easily sell over 10-20 grand, so I'm pleased to see that Williams is using a great guitar and that his money hasn't made him think he needs a Ramirez.
