Here's the 2006 Cramer Interview that Stewart was referencing. Where Cramer explains how he could influence stock prices as a hedge fund manager.

Douche. Prick. Twat. Loser. Hope everyone who watches his show lost their fuckin shirts. Losers.
I don't think Jim Cramer deserves ALL that vile, but damn if it is fun to give him so much.
I disagree - the way he talks in those clips about engineering and manipulating panic on the street for the ideological and financial gain of a select few is tantamount to domestic terrorism. People are losing their life savings after being told by these guys that that was the way to save for the long term. Completely shameful.
That's not the same Jim Cramer that went off on the NBC channels. It's amazing what physically walking onto The Daily Show set will do to the fire in your belly. Stewart never raised his voice, never made a face, never attacked, but won on the sheer weight of his intelligence and honesty.
All I'm saying is that Cramer didn't personally collapse anything. He was a tool of the evil of greed, wittingly or unwittingly. That's bad, but he doesn't deserve ALL the blame.
On a side note, anyone wonder what was said after Jon Stewart cut in and said "Hmm.., that's an interesting place for a cut?"
Cramer took the shots so willingly and so sheepishly, it's almost like he knew what was coming - except he wasn't prepared for it or even try to seriously defend himself.
I fell like he had a big consult with some NBC lawyers or PR people before the show and they said "Either you can be combative and boisterous (Mad Money like) or you can be calm take your medicine and hope this all goes away."
I imagine Cramers ratings will take a dive after this, if they haven't already.
KBK, I agree. I think Cramer's a nasty shill and a douche but he's not Bernie Madoff, least not as far as I'm aware.
Still, when the stock market is going up and you have a show where you brag about how much money you are making you should take your lumps when the market tries to limbo under lower bars every day.
Last night's show made me love Jon Stewart more than ever--because (although I know he has a staff to help) his show was well researched, he was well spoken and calm, and he made sure not to pounce on the regular people who happen to work on Wall Street.
His comment about his mother made the whole thing make more sense, too---he's got years left in his career to make more money, but she's 75.
And probably living in his house now.
How is a grown man supposed to get his wife aboard the smile train when his mom is on his couch, bitching about the evil, evil men of Wall Street? It kind of kills the moment....
And Jim Cramer was either coached, or dug back into his law school days and coached himself...
Huff Post must have seen our headline just they just posted a similar one.
"JON STEWART EVISCERATES JIM CRAMER AND CNBC "
Arianna is always stealing our shit.
It's easier than using that big, heavy thesaurus!!!
I'm of two minds about Cramer and his ilk...
First of all, the Financial punditry are a bit like the sports punditry. They make predictions that usually are fairly false. If you went out and bet your life savings on the Raiders because Howie Long said he thinks they're going to win, you're a moron.
However, Cramer is a bit different. Consider him an ex-coach. The scenario I have envisioned is that Cramer walks back to the lockerroom, sees the starting QB get kicked in the head by a horse. He says to the Coach, "Wow, that going to make for a tough game." The Coach responds, "Nope, he'll play. Just a pregame ritual for him. He's feeling great."
Cramer then goes and reports that said QB is going to have a monster game today, specifically quoting the coach who said "He's feeling great". As he yells over the ambulances coming to retrieve the stricken hero, Cramer idiotically praises his toughness.
What he should have done is said "Hey, I just saw the QB get laid out by a horse. The coach says he's fine, but when I coached I lied about injuries all the time. "
The issue here is that Cramer should be in a position as an expert to cut through the BS, not mindlessly repeat it.
Right Lost.
The lack of deep reporting is rampant all over the networks.
No offense to the embedded guys digging for the story (i pissed them off months ago) but the TV media's need to report now and move on - fill 17 hours of live TV [I think Cramer said] fuels the talk talk talk culture as opposed to hold your tongue until you know the source or you can validate it all.
Who knows if this will be a wake up call.
