The current packaging was growing on me, so much so that I no longer hesitate when trying to locate my Calcium enriched OJ to pair with my Cookie Crisp cereal. I found the new design easy to read and it seemed to fit in with my minimalist sensibilities. But the suits had to cave to public pressure. Much like the Family Guy saga, you need to give things time before pulling the plug. If someone stops buying a product because they don't like the design of the packaging, are these the types of consumers we'd want to cater to? The squeaky wheel doesn't always need the grease.
Of course, this means the current packaging will be worth millions in a few years once it's discontinued. I'll be stock-piling it next to the shelves of Crystal Pepsi I have chilling in my bomb shelter.

Ah, no doubt they spent a good year and a huge chunk of money to redesign the packages as well as millions on "testing" to make sure consumers agreed and liked it. Then they give in after less than a month in market.
Brilliant! Spineless Tropicana marketing folks.
Way to take it in the ass for a few angry emails and phone calls. They didn't need to. What, were people suddenly going to drink Minute Maid or Store brand because of a package redesign? Fuck no. Trops has the best taste, other than fresh squeezed, so who gives a fuck all about the fact that the new 1/2 gallon doesn't have an orange with straw sticking out of it.
Sadly, I fear I am partially to blame. In my quest for immature humor I may have sunk a brand I love and have drank faithfully for over 20 years.
Sorry Trops, lesson learned.
Hey Echo, I have a 16 cases of new coke in my bomb shelter. Where can i get some of that crystal pepsi? will trade a 2liter of pepsi blue!
Pablo... done and done.
Don't get me started on this new label even though this would be the perfect light hearted forum for me to share my thoughts and opinion I think it would be best considering that I would prefer afterall to keep my feelings to myself so Don't get me started.
And right they are, at Tropicana.
This package communicates 'generic yellow stuff from concentrated juice' made by 'some brand' (Vertical logo! Why?!), while the old design said 'Juice, straight from the orange', with the straw sticking out of the fresh, shiny, orange, orange.
Prediction: Pepsi itself will follow shortly. The postponed the introduction of their new identity in Europe already...
Not even rumors of the new Pepsi logo/bottles down here.
I don't think they are too confident on the new packages.
Why not, charlie dugan? I'd love to know what you think about it.
Florida Natural is better than Tropicana...try it and see...harder to find at all grocery stores, though
I second the Florida's Natural recommendation. Good stuff.
(oops, forgot the " 's"...thanks Tim)
