I sent out a call last week for readers to submit their favorite stuff for Breakfast links. Well this one I thought deserved a bit more than a spot on the sidebar.
This video comes from our friend Brock, a film maker and theater student at TCU in Forth Worth. (Go Frogs!) He organized a group of fellow student to record this lip synced version of Mika's Grace Kelly. Then choreographed the action so it all happens in one take.
Here's how it came about:
So my friends and took a week to decide the song. It's Mika's Grace Kelley. We loved how upbeat and bouncy it was, and how it could have a kind of story to it. I made a facebook event, got a lot of theatre majors involved.
It took an hour to walk everything out and plan it all. I couldn't do this beforehand because I didn't know who was going to be there. Then we started filming. The beginning was the hardest to get right, we took 45 min to get past the shot of the guy with the dancers in the background. Something would always be wrong and we would have to restart. But after that we got two great runs, this was the last of those two.
Oh, and keep sending Breakfast Link submissions to me: baierman@yesbutnobutyes.com
