Like my Overlooked Movies and Overlooked Television Shows, I now bring you Overlooked Musicians. Before we get into the nitty gritty of it all, here are the usual disclaimers. One, this is based on my judgment of good music. While I do think I have an ear for talent, I think it's only fair to admit that I may have purchased Wilson Phillips' "Hold On' in the past week on iTunes. Also, I have a strong leaning toward the singer-songwriter genre and my selections will definitely reflect that. (Though, a quick spin through my boxes and boxes of CDs will reveal everything from Naughty By Nature to The Mighty Mighty Bosstones.) Finally, because I'm New York based, most of the music I hear happens to be New York based. This also means that me, like many New Yorkers, don't own a car and by extension rarely listen to the radio. These folks could be international superstars and I wouldn't know. So here, by recommendation of yours truly, are several artists who have been generally overlooked by the mainstream due to not having a show on Saturday morning television and/or not wearing promise bracelets.

The other day while I was eating my tofu bacon lard and arugula spinach wrap in the YBNBY break room, Echowood asked me how I was looked so tan and healthy.
I assured him I wasn't going to a tanning salon or using sprays, it was simply a computer tan.
He thought I was joking. (I guess he was jealous cause I'm beginning to look as good as he does.)

If you've ever visited New York City and walked around Union Square or near Radio City you may have run across Joe Ades and his "amazing" $5 vegetable peeler. No doubt he was a character, with his booming voice and his smooth sales pitch. He could probably sell Christmas trees in February. In fact he once did.
Well after a lifetime of selling and making a fortune little by little, Joe Ades died at 75.
