At the end of March, me, along with my twin brother (yes, there are two of us ... this much awesomeness couldn't be contained in just one embryo), will be turning 30 years old. And as we bid adieu to all of the greatness that was our 20's, like me finally losing my virginity (to a homeless man, but it counts) we want the decade to go out in style. What I need is recommendations and suggestions. I'll give you guys some parameters, and then I'll set you free in the comments section.
- The trip has to be international in nature. (Canada and Mexico don't count)
- It can't be romantic. There's nothing I'd hate more than sipping daiquiris with my brother on a beach while he reads a Joan Collins novel.
- It has to be memorable. We don't want to spend our time touring castles. Unless the castle had a bungee jumping station or housed Voltron.
- This place has to be easily traveled to from New York and Boston over a long weekend. (Western Europe is in, Vietnam is out).
- This is happening at the end of March, so a trip to Reykjavík might be a bit ... dark.
- We've been thinking about the following cities: Amsterdam, Prague, Berlin, and Seville.
So tell me what you've got, especially the plethora of international readers we get. I'll take cities, places, landmarks, events, etc... Something we'll remember until we turn 40 and do it all again.
One word: Tokyo
Go to Costa Rica
I had the greatest time there.
You can do so much outdoor stuff its incredible.
It's nothing like Mexico in the sense that it's anything stereotypical.
A country with 6 different climate zones in the area the size of Vermont and New Hampshire combined.
end of march?
gotta be Spain.
Madagascar.
EASY: Plymouth.
I've done EVERY honey there, so I can point you in the right direction:
'Noisy in bed', 'smelly axe-wound', 'looks dirty but is actually CRUD in bed', 'ABSOLUTE nymph' etc...
Deal?
Cesar. Thanks for the Costa Rica mention. I had been thinking about going there. I like Mexico, but I don't need to go there every time. Good to hear CR is different.
Been to Amsterdam, Prague, and Berlin–all around February and March (for work, not my timing.) I can personally say, it's very overcast, cold an wet. I agree with Cesar; go to Costa Rica. Either coast–Carribbean or Pacific. You two won't regret it.
Nice or Monte Carlo would be good options, but might be tight with your schedule. What about Dublin?
Thanks for the help guys. We've been to Costa Rica (and you're right, it IS amazing, especially if you're into surfing.) And Tim, there has been talk of heading down to the South of France or doing a Dublin trip. Both options are great. Julian - I don't really know what to make of your advice, it both intrigues and scares me. Finally Exeto, I think an 18 hour flight to Tokyo would be a bit much for a long weekend.
Aruba is kinda cool ... small island, nearby, interesting history with some sightseeing to do. A very manageable long weekend trip. They used to have casinos there, but I haven't been in 20 years. Might be better to save for the ladies ... errr, I mean, lady.
Florianopolis, Brazil. (http://florianopolis-visit.com/)
Great beaches, track and field tours, awesome girls, sandboard on the dunes... and more.
March is pretty sunny and hot... all the ways "hot" can mean
Last but not least, Brazilian south, homeland for most of our international mega-boga-delicious supermodels... Nuff said.
south florida ...

flying a thousand miles an hour with your hair on fire ... click the link ... sit back ..and listen .. oh yeah ..
South of Spain (maybe Malaga) - with a day trip across to Morocco to take in the bazaars. Would be a contrast in cultures and it would be warm... and you would be surrounded by fantastic food, drink and dark-haired beauties.
I say go hang out with Leo...and report back to us!
Holy crap, you're only 29? God, I feel old ...
wow..twins...2 Echowoods? *swoon* Are you identical?
The better question is which one is the evil twin....
wait--didn't Echo say that his brother chooses not to vote? there's our answer...
An Echowood and an Echowoodn't.
Wait...if he has a twin, was that really him on the YouTube vid he posted?
Sadly, we are as fraternal as they come. (And for years I thought he was the evil twin... only recently did I come to discover I was the evil one. )
well, that ruins the idea of bringing the Preferred Stock twins concept back to life for the pages of YBNBY...
(complete with the scent of Axe shampoo, conditioner, and styling products!)
Guys, stop going ON about lesser places. He';s already decided. A three-way SCHNAFFLATHON in Plymouth!!!!!! lmao
If you come to Barcelona (Spain), I'll be your personal guide and driver for free! ;)
Tim, I was trying to come up with a joke for the Echo's twin brother's name. Nothing can top yours...
Now we know it, we need an "Evil Twins" post on YBNBY.
Well, hi, I'm a regular reader.
Happy b-day :)
I've been to prague and amsterdam -
prague is amazing and rather cheap. Awesome landmarks, great architechtue, but other than that - nothing much.
On the other hand - Amsterdam is a great place for two guys travelling together. Other the obvious coffee shops, they got tons of great shops, a sweet zoo, an active party scene and lots of attractions. I say - Go Amsterdam.
Can not praise Prague enough, the old city is contained in a small space so you can easily get around it in a couple of days. If it gets too romantic you can get outside the old city and see traces of the eastern block everywhere, i still have recurring nightmares about their subway system. And GREAT food.
Honestly, I say Prague. I went at the end of March a few years ago and they were setting up for the Easter celebration which is HUGE there! It was cold, and snowy, but when you're in such a gothic city, it's the best time of year, I think. Old Town Sq. was gorgeous and amazing.
My gf and I did a trip through Austrian air where you fly to either Prague or Budapest and then a free stop in Vienna. So we spent a week in Prague and then a week in Vienna. It was the best trip I ever had!
And beer is only something like 75 cents in Prague. How could you go wrong?!?
welcome ... Noa .. steve urkle .. and .. AT ...
I say go to Sweden. Even if it is cold I hear the girls are drunk, horny and love Americans, if the tales be true.
Simple.
Vegas, baby.
Incredible restaurants, great clubs, amazing hotels and pools, plus a nightlife that cannot be matched. You can see classic art, world class entertaiment, and rooms are dirt cheap right now.
Oh yeah, you can gamble, too.
Vegas, baby.
I agree with Dave, Vegas.
I am also turning 30....sooner than you actually. The big 3-0 is less than 2 weeks away for me!!!! AHHHHH!
you mean imposter Dave...not UNNA Dave....
Wherever you go, make sure there's a decent number of senior citizens (not so much to slow you down, but enough to make you think that 30 is nothing...I plan on doing that for all birthdays ending in zero...because when you see 90 yr olds, turning 30, 40, 50, 60 or even 70 is a cinch to deal with).
Nothing but 18 and 19 year olds is better scenery but makes you feel ancient...
yes, correction: imposter Dave
Thank you for the correction.
There can only be one rooster in this hen house.
Cock-a-doodle-doo!!!!
Leo! You said COCK!
must we talk about cocks every time Echo posts a story?
no wonder why Scara is all bent out of shape...this site is supposed to be about boobs and bacon folks!!!
Sarcky! You said COCK!
side note: I like talking about bacon, and boobs, but a girl needs some variety, and today I needed to focus on cock
Sounds like the perfect topic for the next pillowfight club meeting...
I just don't want the guys to get all freaked out about it...although Leo did bring it up (haha)--so maybe we should give him an honorary membership?
As I can see, my rooster (also know as COCK) impersonation haven't gone the way I intended too, but I gladly accept joining the pillow fight club.
Photos will be posted later...
oh yes, when is the next meeting?
I think Leo should definitely get an honorary membership. And I can't WAIT for the photos
Prague. Czech Women!!
Come to Barbados.
Its close by, the US dollar is still relatively strong here and its a fun place for a weekend of partying. There's surf if you're into that, great restaurants and some great bars and pubs.
The south coast is where most of the action takes place, and its cheaper than the snooty west coast. I'd recommend it. Have fun where ever you end up :)
I second Madagascar. Beautiful white sand beaches, great exploring and beautiful women.
If you end up going to Amsterdam be sure to enjoy the sex stylings of the Case de Rosa. It is the best sex show in Amsterdam's red light district. I'll never be able to listen to Phil Collin's "In the air tonight" the same way again.
echo did you decide where to go yet ?
First, thanks again to everyone who gave excellent suggestions. After much deliberation, we've decided to head to Amsterdam. (Please wait for my "Give me some things to do in Amsterdam" post.) Amsterdam works because it's only a 7 hour flight from New York and Boston, both of us have never been there, and there's a lot to do.
Alright then, Amsterdam it is ... we're all off to Amsterdam!
