WARNING: This clip from the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica contains spoilers. If you follow the show and haven't seen it yet (which is unlikely at this point), you may want to watch the entire episode at Hulu first.
You've seen unfortunate ad placements before, but you've never seen anything as unfortunate as this commercial break during Friday's Battlestar Galactica. There are other words I could use besides "unfortunate", such as shocking, disgusting, or hilarious, but I couldn't decide between them. So far, the general reaction is "hilarious".

If these were just premium, I'd be offended.
Battlestar Gaffe-actica.
Wow. Just.
Wow. I can't tell if I died laughing from disgust, or am just disgusted by my own laughter.
The music. The explosive splattering. This HAD to be planned!
Somewhere, a sociopathic Ad Exec is Laughing his evil ass off.
I am a devout follower of this show and almost cried at this part. Where I was, this commercial was not in the sequence (which was good, because I'm not sure I would have been able to quite take it). However, this was probably the funniest thing I've seen in a while. It was just so awkward and wrong and hilarious at such a momentous moment.
...I never really liked Dee very much. Just sayin'.
Wasn't thinking of the ad when I saw the headshot. Then the break and OH MY GOSH! Awesome! I agree, someone knew. They used to pull this tie-in advertising stuff back in the 90's. Awesome...
All bad placement aside, that episode was the best hour of television I've seen in many years. It just kept getting better and better. I feel sorry for all those people that have never watched this show, because now they might as well wait for the DVDs.
Now, I'm going out on a metaphoric limb by saying I never really got into the show (the whole frakkin' this and frakkin' that makes me believe that Yosemite Sam writes the dialog) but this was H-I-larious.
It couldn't have been worse unless it was an ad for feminine products.
I think I just grossed myself out.
I watched the Canadian broadcast of that episode, but didn't pay attention to the commercials. Now that I've seen the entire sequence, it's somewhat amusing, but I disagree with PT in that someone knew. This advert has been running quite a lot over the past few weeks and I highly doubt those at the Space Network would even pay attention to what commercials were running at what time.
I just can't understand why anyone would want to add a product to their soup that makes it erupt violently in their face, potentially maiming them and their loved ones.
And imagine the mess these poor base wage waitresses will have to mop up?
No tips and no thanks.
At least with brains the staff goes home and they send Dexter in to take over.
