Nice logo. Loyal 77 would be a nice name for a softball team too.

How do I know if ..I.. am worthy to wear the Loyal 77 Logo??
I mean, what if I am walking the street in my brand new Loyal 77 hoodie when I run into S.O. who calls me on it, says "Hey, are YOU one of THE 77?" Well, gee, I would just turn into a whimpering pile of male poo, because, I could not answer honestly. And, I sure would not want to take credit if I was not worthy.
But,
IF I was worthy. I could tell S.O. "piss off and keep working."

So, How do I verify?

*Note: Any resemblance to actual S.O. persons is purely, and totally
coincidental and no physical bodily harm should be bestowed.*

EffenIdontcare, you will be happy to know that I DO consider you a member of the L77...because I like your name and you post often enough to really count.

(auugghhh--slow internet. Guess I really consider EIDC a L77er)

I'm loving the fact that there's finally a travel mug.....

Didn't see anything in monkey sizes--did I miss that?

That's right B. 77 is a state of mind. BTW, what font is that '77'? It's apt.

Reminds me of The Warriors. Awesome book, quality movie. (I haven't been in a gang in years. I think we can take BoingBoing if they mess with us...)

" Hey nice hoodie! What does loyal 77 mean?"

" It means I'm a loyal part, participant if you will of the best damn pop culture blog on the world wide web. "

"Um ok...that's kinda weird. Did you make it yourself?"

"Nah babe. I paid nearly 30 dollars for it because well...hey where are you going? Come back here!"

said Chad on January 25, 2009 9:25 AM.

"The Loyal" is in a font called Sugar Pie, with contextual & stylistic alternatives, and a modified path, and the 77 is in Rockwell Extra Bold. With a stroke, which I thought was particularly apt.

As one of the non commenting, Loyal 77'ers. I will be be ordering one of those great T-Shirts soon.

said Aaron Campbell on January 25, 2009 12:11 PM.

I would like to buy one, but I'm poor.

I'll just buy a plain white tee-shirt, get some Crayola markers (non-washable) and make my own.

That way when I cross Dave or Leo and they say "hey, you suck" I'll say, "hey, I didn't HAVE to take 3 minutes to write on my tee-shirt but did anyways." And then they will say, "man, that guy really is loyal!" And then they will buy me the hoodie because a guy walking around in a tee-shirt in the middle of winter must be really cold.

said Jimbo on January 25, 2009 1:02 PM.

Yo. Like the look. Ordered me nice t shirt.

said E on January 25, 2009 5:09 PM.

Nice apparel Scara... Worth buying.

Jimbo, if we see you around with a crafted L77 tee, you'll be recognized as extra loyal, because you'll have to give up buying your spam meal to buy a tee and the crayolas. Worth giving you the hoodie!

Effen, you'll have no trouble with me. You're OK to wear your tee.

Hey i been around for a while but it seems not long enough, what is this loyal 77 all about, i've got the clue its all us kickass super cool awesome readers but why loyal 77? history lesson please

said mart on January 26, 2009 12:27 PM.

mart, it's a mystery if there's a real meaning for the 77.
I've perused the comments and the older reference I have found was of one of the writers (JW if I'm not mistaken) asking the loyal 77 to comment on some subject or to caption a picture. I'm not sure, it's a long ago since I've searched.

Not even the writers are sure of how it all began.

But you're right. It's really all about us, kickass supercool readers! Buy your tee and show your support!
