You know those Mac commercials where they portray PC owners as a bunch of lame, hapless, behind-the-times nerds?
Well apparently Microsoft is taking the "if ya can't beat 'em, join 'em" approach in this new ad for their Songsmith software.
Yes, I'm fairly certain this is actually from Microsoft. And yes, I'm also fairly certain that's a MacBook Pro the daughter is using.
Are you as confused and/or amused as I am? Leave a comment!

I guess it's safe to say that if you can't sing for shit, the thing goes all bluescreen on your ass.
Feels like they're poking fun at Apple.
I can't imagine someone would green light a production on this horrible spot unless its end goal is making fun of the garageband, iLife users.

Oh dear Gods, they'll make every place a Karaoke Hell... you won't be able to go anywhere and not have some off-key warbler thinking they're Brittany Spears....
UGH.
mac doesn't charge for using their products in commercials or tv, or something like that
so i guess they just slap a sticker over the logo and call it a PC
but then again, they usually just slap a sticker over the logo anyway to get around that, so why wouldnt they use a toshiba or something?
Good question, Taxicat. Perhaps after their first take trying to run the program on a PC (see link below), they realized it didn't really gel with their line, "Microsoft, huh? So it's pretty easy to use?"

WTF?? The whole world will become "The Sound of Music", except we don't have Julie Andrews and the Von Trapp kids around... Damn.
Oh God, that is so hilariously lame. I agree with the Karaoke comment!
I think I'll get it so that I can burst into song at work.
