Plaxico Burress: In 2008 Plax won the Super Bowl, signed a huge new contract, get fined, suspended, then shot himself in leg and got suspended for the season without pay.
John Edwards: There really are 2 Americas John. One where you have a wife and another where you father a child with your a mistress.
Elliot Spitzer: Do no wrong New York Governor does big, big wrong. Call girl prostitutes are his undoing.

E - Yes, but just because she was on the losing side of the election, doesn't make her a 'loser' in this context. If it did, wouldn't McCain be the bigger loser?

As far as Spitzer is concerned, and Edwards for that matter, to me it's just a matter of them being hypocritical. Standing for one thing, yet practicing something entirely different. Knowing they are under the spotlight, yet acting in that manner anyway, well that spells L-O-S-E-R.
Man, she was hot though. Uh, errrrr, Spitzer's chick ... not Edwards'.

As for Palin. I think the fact that she was brought in to energize a campaign and help McCain win undecided voters but she ended up creating more doubt and mistrust in voters minds instead qualifies her.
Edwards needs better taste in women fo sho.
I don't think of Palin as a loser for the most part. Still you could call McCain and her losers. Gore and Kerry were losers too. (I'm not gonna get into the Gore election thing though...)

Sure, McCain's campaign shares blame on this. But her missteps happened on such a big stage for all the public to see. How could we not put her on this list?
