Welcome to the great YBNBY Christmas Giveaway. Every day this week we're unwrapping items in a great prize giveaway. Yesterday we unwrapped The Ninja Handbook and now it's time for Day Four.
All you have to do to be entered for the competition is leave a comment on any of the seven stories telling us which was your favorite YBNBY story or feature of the year. On Monday 22nd, I'll pick a winner at random, and contact you for your mailing address, and ship 'em out. I'm afraid we're restricting entries from the 48 contiguous US states only, as shipping this box overseas would just cost an arm and a leg.
Today's prize is something a little different....

Marcus Buckingham is someone I've been working with in my day job, and I have a copy of his latest book and DVD, The Truth About You, to give away. I've always been skeptical of any kind of self-help books, but Marcus - who Oprah has featured a few times - is pretty compelling. This book is aimed at those early on in their career, and is designed to help you find the RIGHT path for you, as opposed to the easiest. If I'd had this 15 years ago, I never would have ended up editing this dead-end blog. A good read, and even better graduation present for your niece.
We'll unwrap prize five tomorrow - the last three to come are pretty cool, if I say so myself.

The caption competitions are my all time favorite part of this site...the bride w/barely no dress, the Santas on a subway and the LSU cheerleader were three of my favorites. The best pictures leave you aghast for a minute, then the captions start flying out the keyboard, making you wonder where that bizarre thought bubbled up from. Don't re-read your comments later because you may wonder if you're even related to that person who wrote them, let alone ARE that same person!!!
As for great graduation gifts....ahem...well, I did just graduate Sunday...
Go Heels!!!
5 looks like AXE shampoo/perfume/"manly scent" products; 6 is probably a ybnby tee; 7 is a damn mystery, perhaps more books or one of those DVD sets.
Woohoo! My LSU cheerleader got a nod! Yeah that was a scary one...not as scary as a new Tarheel grad though. Go Cavs (even though I'm in Gamecock country)! Haha....I kid. Congrats on graduating though!
I'd love for people to check out some of our early 2008 stories (before the site redesign.) Here's some of my favs....

BD...what's "scarier" (for you) is that I learned there are over 250,000 living Tarheel alumni...which explains why you can go anywhere in the world and run into one of us...not bad for a state university...
Say gamecock again...that always cracks me up!
As an avid baker, I'll have to say that the "Steak Cake" list by Baierman from earlier this year was impressive and a great joke idea for my vegetarian friends :)
I loved learning about the existence of the bacon martini! :)
BMan, I second the Vag Punch one. Laughed my ass off.
This one was from 2007 but it's a good one (17 sec clip):

Ballbuster. A game the whole family can play.
Now that was a video.
By the way, Self help books are full of crap. Reason being, your helping yourself and if you where able to do that you wouldn't need a self help book in the first place. You, a loser, Is helping you, a loser. See how it works?
