Someone posing as Santa Claus is having a charity auction on ebay that includes a Wii Console, Guitar Hero World Tour (band kit), Wii Fit, Mario Kart with wheel, Sports Kit (tennis racket, baseball bat, golf club, wheel, control cover, control strap) and extra control and nunchuk.
I say "posing as Santa" cause I know the real Santa would never use ebay. He'd go directly to the mass media to spread the word, just like he did in Year Without A Santa Claus.
In addition, Santa will visit the winners family, personally, on Christmas Day. Not sure what time zone that will be, given he's got to fly around the world in outdated technology and the 25th in Australia is like the 24th in New York. Granted life is easier for him these days since billions of people don't believe in him anymore. Shame on you!
(People tell me not to sweat the details but I have a perspiration problem.)
As for the auction, 40% of the final sale price will go to Montreal Children's Foundation and 20% of the net proceeds will go to a charity of the winner's choice.
That leaves 40% to, well, Santa?
Guess he wants to recoup his loses on reindeer food, jingle bells and elf undergarments. Or make up for the bad investment he made with Bernard Madoff.

I did investigate the charity and the folks mentioned in this letter on the auction do exist. So in all seriousness, it appears this auction is legit. But I'll remain a skeptic on the real person behind it.
Personally while Santa definitely has a vested interest in helping kids, I think his top charity these days has more to do with saving the polar ice caps.
Anyway, given the starting bid of $20,000, the jolly one better start phoning in favors from his well-to-do friends like Herbie the Dentist, Yukon Cornelius and Tim Allen.
If you know any rich folks who still need to make their charitable donation, forward them this link.
