I really enjoyed the sentiment that was displayed on the bottom of the liveblog. I think it still holds true as we welcome our president elect.....whatever happens, we're all in this together.
this just in, (11:40 pm) celebratory gunfire in saginaw michigan. of course this is the state where we burn things down to celebrate sports teams winning championships.
I want to thank everyone who joined us for the liveblog tonight. It was a very historic moment, and spending it with YBNBY friends and supporters meant everything to me.
Have to throw this is in, I could tell (maybe it was just hope) Obama was gonna win CO. Aside from the polls, there were alot of people who just wanted no more of the same. He played it well too, having the convention here. Lots of Coloradoans were up for voting for a Democrat, they just usually didn't make as much effort.
I believe this is a great moment for all of us, even those who voted against. The elections went well, everyone had their say, and it was done peacefully. Thats awesome. Everyone should be proud of that.
BMan, from the WonderBra, no more election talk slugfest:
"2 weeks?
E, this things been going on for 3+ years. Ain't no way it's just gonna be over on Nov. 4.
I'm thinking it's Gore V Bush II. It'll drag on till at least Christmas Ever.
It'll end like this...In his last act, Dick Cheney will totally redeem himself breaking the Senate deadlock and vote Barack! Not cause he likes Obama but as a final FU from Bush to McCain."
What a relief to wake up and know that I didn't dream this....I loved Obama's acceptance speech--classy, intelligent, and looking forward. And the true sense of family love on that stage plus his acknowledgment of his first campaign promise* just makes me smile.
*that would be the first puppy...a man who honors his promises to his children is a man who should lead us....
Tim, seriously....I voted for Obama....I know I will not be happy with every decision he makes as prez, and is human...but as long as he remains a good father and husband and doesn't break any laws (besides speeding and jaywalking), I will always respect him.
I don't hero worship---but a man who is a great husband and father is a hero in my eyes...
If there was ever a time for change, this would be it.
Congratulations, President Obama!
Way to go everybody. I'm happy, proud, and optimistic right now.
It's pretty quiet in the RL in my neighborhood, though some firecrackers were going off a few minutes back.

E, those words tasted mmm-mmm-good, even thought they were said in jest.
So happy the way things turned out.
Sarcky - "a man who honors his promises to his children is a man who should lead us...."
Right this way, my dear.
So, who won?
"that one" won, swayze.
Scara, this link - http://www.yesbutnobutyes.comn/election08.html
seems a little snafucated. (Maybe it's just me..)
I think Stevens, the recently convicted Alaska senator got re-elected.
What up w/Dat?
Palin said they do things differently in Alaska. I bet she wishes she ran for Stevens seat instead of with McCain.
