If you snooze, you lose. The free Dr. Pepper deal is tomorrow, on a Sunday, when schools and libraries are closed and many people are off work ...and it requires a computer.

In case you're not familiar with the story, the drink company said if Guns'N'Roses long-awaited album Chinese Democracy was released in 2008, they'd give everyone in America a free Dr. Pepper. OK, tomorrow is the official release date. Why on a Sunday? Maybe so folks could be in line at midnight to buy the album? Anyway, apparently tomorrow is also the ONLY day you can take advantage of the free Dr. Pepper offer. Get a coupon by registering online.

As we said, registration for the free Dr Pepper coupons is available only for 24 hours, beginning at 12:01 a.m. ET on November 23, and the coupons will have an expiration date of February 28, 2009. Obviously, there is a coupon limit -- one per person.

So the decent thing to do if you are reading this is to go to the Dr. Pepper website on Sunday and register all your family members and friends who do not have computer access on Sunday. MmmK?

Update: You have to register for a login to access this deal. Which means it is limited to people who have an email address. I tried it, and it timed out after I hit "submit'. Overloaded? They should have seen that coming. I will try again here in a little while. It's a good thing my kids have email addresses. Too bad about my neighbors who don't have a computer.

Update 2: Now they have a different page up, with a link to get free Dr. Pepper. That link goes to an error page, but there is a phone number they ask you to call if you are having problems. That number is 1-800-696-5891, which is (of course) busy.

Update 3: Due to the mess they experienced yesterday, the offer has been extended.

I clicked the link and got to the login page. I tried to submit my login and went to a fatal error. Apparently my registration went OK yesterday, but no free Dr. Pepper for me!
