I've been playing so much
Grand Theft Auto 4 that when I received a copy of
LittleBigPlanet, I expected something very different from the main character, "Sackboy". You won't kill prostitutes, deal drugs, or run from the cops in LittleBigPlanet, but you will have a surprising amount of fun. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay is addicting with a high replay factor. I was expecting a childish game, easily completed and mastered. And while the graphics are kid-friendly, and the story is (fairly) easy to get through, the real beauty of this game lies in its level customization options. Truth be told, I haven't ventured into the build-your-own-level features yet, but I've played a lot of users' built levels online to much enjoyment.
And if my recommendation isn't enough, I managed to throw the controller into my girlfriend's hands. She readily admits to enjoying the game, and I know she's telling the truth as her acting skills are on par with the mothers from those "Huntington Learning" commercials.
This is the next tittle in my "to get" list I've loved the look and premise from the very first ad I saw.
Seriously though - as a PS2 and XBox360 owner, is this one game worth me laying out the cash for a PS3? Would have to be pretty darn compelling.
I don't know if this would be the game to make you switch. But with Uncharted, Resistance, and LBP, I think cumulatively they're worth the switch. Hell, switch for the Blu-Ray player alone.
There are just too many games good games in the system, like the ones Echo mentioned, that should be played. and it you get anything but the cheaper one you can still play those PS2 (and PSX) games you still have. Anyway how many other blu-ray player can you find for 400 bucks?
I bought this game the day it came out. Its so freakin' addicting. My only complaint is to get 100% of the stickers/items on some of the levels it takes two people. I've asked my friends to help me, but they look at me as though I am one giant mass o' nerdiness (which may or may not be accurate)
oh well, it still rocks my socks. In my opinion its well worth the switch to PS3...that and Civilization Revolution is a killer game as well
this concludes my nerdly advice
But then you have just as good a games that are 360 only as well.
Halo3, fable 2, gears of war1/2, Bioshock.... I could go on and on.
For online play you get the best out of xbox live.
Although, ps3 is a cheap blue ray player. And God of war 3 should be out sometime soon.
Just man up and do what I did, Get both, and watch your social life go down the plug hole.
Damn games being more interesting then the real world.
Sigh.
To me fable 2 (just like the first) is just mehhh. Bioshock came out for the PS3 too.
