The scone is a British snack of Scottish origin. A small quickbread made of wheat, barley or oatmeal, usually with baking powder as a leavening agent. The scone is a basic component of the cream tea or Devonshire tea.

A crumpet is a savoury/sweet bread snack made from flour and yeast. (more like the US version of an English Muffin.)

I've had scones w/tea...and seeing that it's about the right time for those (Eastern Time), I'll take an order of those....

Why I didn't know what crumpets look like is beyond me--I've been to London...bad American, bad....
