The house lynx

When you find a lynx in your house it's probably a good idea not to do what this lady is doing.

And the Darwin award goes to...

said Jeem on October 3, 2008 11:18 AM.

That the hell was she thinking of? Come here, kitty kitty?
Damn, Darwin award for sure!

said Leonardo Carvalho on October 3, 2008 12:14 PM.

Yes, kids, they're called 'domesticated animals', and this is called, 'playing with them'.

said strathmeyer on October 3, 2008 12:17 PM.

A lynx becomes domesticated as soon as it crawls through a doggie door?

(If someone actually has this as a 'domesticated pet', then they really are stupid. Sleep well ... )

said Tim on October 3, 2008 12:24 PM.

Pretty sure the lynx was just looking for a sandwich.

said Johnny Wright on October 3, 2008 12:38 PM.

It didn't look domesticated to me.

And why should someone do it?Just to look like those African bad-boys who walk around with hienas and baboons on a leash like dogs? (pitbulls are for the weak, by the way)

said Leonardo Carvalho on October 3, 2008 12:58 PM.

If a wild animal just randomly strolled into my home (the home that houses my precious young son, by the way), I'd be grabbing my pepper spray and a weapon - not a camera. Any video footage documenting said animal, would come from the 11 O'clock news, about 'the crazy woman who punted, maimed, shot, stabbed, and made Linx Jerky from it's bullet-riddled little body'.

I think the animal is domesticated. No one in their right mind would be this calm.

said ConservaLiberCrat_08 on October 3, 2008 1:13 PM.

Ah...but no one in their right mind would think they could domesticate one of these, either...

And CLC, I noticed that ever since I mentioned the fact that this is supposed to be a boy's site, you changed your picture to look more like one of them...I feel betrayed!!!

said sarcastic one on October 3, 2008 1:23 PM.

Don't underestimate the stupidity, CLC. Never...
Some jerk might think: "I can see Russia from my backyard, and I'm way bigger than this linx. I can kick the shit out of it if it attacks me. Let's film him"

The video footage you would see, if it was me against the linx, would be a good savage barbecue, and for soundtrack, a gig with my new tambourine made out of its skin. No news coverage.
I'd try to make it run outside to freedom of course, if I could, but if the fight was unavoidable, a big smack on the head would do the job.

I'm thinking about linx' bacon... but I believe it doesn't have enough fat to make a good bacon. Barbecue it, then.

said Leonardo Carvalho on October 3, 2008 1:27 PM.

now, now folks. Lets cool it on the icon talk. It's b-ball season and CLC08 is a lakers fan. She's getting psyched for the season is my guess.

As for the lynx. I'm not sure it's domesticated. It looks pretty fucking pissed and rearing to attack. I don't think it's behavior is just because it's spooked by a video camera.

My first instinct if confronted by this animal would have been to ignore the mountain lion instructions "freeze, grab children", get the fuck out and call animal control.

said Baierman on October 3, 2008 1:32 PM.

Baierman is correct. Pre-Season starts next Tuesday. I am to the Lakers what Tim is to the Cubs.

said ConservaLiberCrat_08 on October 3, 2008 1:45 PM.

And I am to CLC what shit is to a fly. You know you're loving this ...

Please, don't patronize me. The Cubs have one exactly zero championships in the last 100 years. The Lakers have like 250 during that time.

said Tim on October 3, 2008 2:17 PM.

This person must be related to that guy that got eatin for lunch by the Grizzlies. No matter if it's domesticated or not, anyone who would have one for a pet, (inside their house no less) deserves to lose a sandwich or two. I wonder what type of animal they have for an "outside" pet.

Of course, the proper way to handle this if it's wild is, to shut the doors and wait for your spouse to get home and tell them there is a suprise in the kitchen.

said phatlard on October 3, 2008 9:44 PM.

That animal has been teased/abused. It's obvious the person filming the lynx is familiar with it. Animals typically don't go into self defense mode unless there's a reason...they try to get away first.

said texican on October 4, 2008 11:54 AM.

Baier--didn't mean to make you come to CLC's defense...it just took some adjusting when I saw her make her usual witty girl remarks with a guy's picture attached...

Tim, she was complimenting your LOYALTY to the Cubs....your fly and shit analogy....uh...that puts a picture in my head of how they throw up on your food or whatever else they land on...(that's the little rubbing their legs together move). Kinda gross....I think she has too much class to hurl on you....

Great Bama game, huh?

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 5:46 PM.

Sarcky - I knew what she was doing. But being a Cubs fan and being a Lakers fan are not the same at all. It is easy to be loyal to the Lakers; not so much with the Cubs.

My analogy about the fly was more about the fly finding the shit irresistible; can't get enough of it. Not sure what that has to do with a fly throwing up, but if that's your gig ....

Bama game? No problems here. UK played well overall. I think we can hold our heads high. We scored two TDs on offense, Bama only one. In fact, if Hartline hadn't fumbled in the end zone, we just might have won that game. Except for the first quarter, we went toe-to-toe with them and outscored them 14-3. We certainly played them tougher than Georgia did.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 7:48 PM.

I'm still learning to wait til AFTER the game is over to talk trash....when I wrote that the score was still 0-14...
not quite the same sting when it closes as 14-17.....those boys are getting a matching set of new a-holes as we speak, I believe....yeah, they still won--but they were ranked #2 in the country and barely eked out a win to an unranked team...
you guys played well--Bama needs to kick it up a notch before they face their next few weeks (yeah, Tennessee is having a crappy year, but they'll be at home and the rivalry is strong...).They might be saving it up for LSU but they can't afford to do that....

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 8:10 PM.

I'm pleased to see you so knowledgeable on the SEC though you are an ACC gal. Much respect to you ...

Regarding today's game ... ironically, UK might end up sneaking in to the top 25 after the loss. They gained a lot of respect today. We have Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee at home this year; Vandy and Georgia on the road. We've got a shot ...

ASU got handed their ass in Berkeley today.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 10:01 PM.

well, they are an exciting football division...that's our house rules...root for Bama for football and my ACC team for basketball (I still can't share that one---not giving ammo to anyone here...)
And I (also) root for mine for football because they'll never go face to face...

The SEC for basketball, outside of Tennessee and LSU, is pretty yawn-inducing...

It's looking like UConn will be out, so that's a slot opened up....

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:12 PM.

Speaking of Vandy...any time Auburn loses, I'm a happy girl

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:13 PM.

"The SEC for basketball, outside of Tennessee and LSU, is pretty yawn-inducing..."

Kentucky basketball is yawn-inducing? We'll see how much yawning you're doing on November 18th.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 10:22 PM.

Sigh....I always forget about Kentucky being in the SEC...because it's further north.
Yes, that was a girl thing to say.

I don't see the Wolfpack playing Kentucky on the 18th....

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:25 PM.

I suspect that your hatred for Auburn is based on either a) hatred for an old boyfriend, or b) friendly rivalry with a current flame. I can find no other logical reason for it ... because everyone loves Bo.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 10:26 PM.

I love Bama. You cannot love Bama and root for Auburn--it goes against JW's sports rules about rivalry and loyalty....Iron Bowl, anyone?

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:27 PM.

And a self-professed Cubs fan is pledging love for a former White Sox?

hmmm.....

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:28 PM.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the White Sox thing. Nevermind.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 10:35 PM.

it's okay....

so, November 18th kentucky vs the wolfpack...will have to mark my calendar...

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:40 PM.

Rats! I've known it was UNC or NC State for some time but wasn't sure which. Since you had plenty of opportunities to say something about Sendek leaving there to go to ASU, and didn't say anything, I thought I was safe with the UNC bet; especially considering your hatred for Duke.

I hate guessing wrong. Should've held my cards a little longer.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 10:40 PM.

or maybe I'll just keep you guessing....

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:41 PM.

Go Wolfheels!!!

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:42 PM.

Well that's just mean.

said Tim on October 4, 2008 10:50 PM.

Okay, sorry....Go Tarpack!

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 10:51 PM.

meeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnggggggoooooooooooooooo!!! meeeeeeeeeeeeeennnnnnnnnnnnggggggoooooooooooooooo!!!

Oh, sorry... you're talking about something else than football (aka soccer)... sorry... let me get back to my silence...

said Leonardo Carvalho on October 4, 2008 11:24 PM.

Leo, you know we love you....but it is college football season around these parts....gotta have some distraction from our crazy economy and politics!

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 11:36 PM.

Yay, I know...
I've been very busy in the latest days. Lots of stuff to finish at the work, I'm not having enough time to keep coming here.
The unintelligible lines above is the cheering shout for my (real) football team. Just to get along on the sports stuff, you know.

said Leonardo Carvalho on October 4, 2008 11:40 PM.

I understood it Leo...and we miss you! Hope things slow down so you can join us more often...

said sarcastic one on October 4, 2008 11:45 PM.

I do hope too...
I'll have to work extra this weekend to accelerate things... Maybe in the end of the next week things start to slow down a little.

said Leonardo Carvalho on October 4, 2008 11:50 PM.

We'll be here....
