Ignorance at Its Finest
This video is just as shocking as the last one we showed. No matter what side of the fence you're on, it's absolutely outstanding that we still have such massive ignorance in this country. The last time I checked (which was actually a few minutes ago) Barack Obama was neither a terrorist nor a Muslim. Further, not all, in fact a severe minority of Muslims are terrorists. Vote for whoever you feel is more qualified, but don't vote based on faulty information that your neighbor told you.

Are you really posting an aljazeera video?!? Seriously? You could have at least put an * on this post to show that it comes from a long time anti American source.

For every far to the right person you posted here, there are just as many far to the left and you know it.

All you do by doing this is further inflame the election tension.

Disappointed.

said "Crazy Right Wing Ohio Guy" on October 16, 2008 11:30 AM.

CRWOG- Thank you for proving my point so eloquently. Al Jazeera may or may not have an anti-American bias. That's a debate for another time and place. Let's forget the source for a moment. It doesn't matter if the video was filled with pro-Obama interviews, and only one negative interview calling Obama a terrorist or hoping the "blacks don't take over". The point is, no one should be making claims like that anywhere. I was merely pointing out that ignorance still runs rampant in this country and I'm shocked by that.

By you pointing out that I'm only inflaming the election tension, you miss the point that this video goes further shed light on the still smoldering racial tensions in this country. You may be disappointed that I put this video up, but I'm more disappointed by the cluelessness of our fellow citizens.

said Echowood on October 16, 2008 11:41 AM.

Wow. The last of a dying inbred breed. These assholes are so pathetic, there's really no need for me to even call them names. Let's just hope that the person who's elected into office will drop a ton of cash into their community's school system, dental plans, and rehab centers.

said ConservaLiberCrat_08 on October 16, 2008 11:57 AM.

Damn. Just Damn. CRWOG you and the people in that video do my state to shame. Seriously. You should all be shot on the street for your ignorance. But since this isn't China, CLC's plan is better. Get them off the meth and educate their kids.

That said, you're looking at a video from Southeastern Ohio. That's our little slice of Appalachia and its a lot like W. Virginia over there. Some people there's no hope for.

I guess I am looking forward to the election ending so YBNBY will start putting out real entertainment instead of this hard left propaganda.

From the New YBNBY Logo, to every other pro-Obama or anti-McCain article, I gotten to where I think YBNBY sucks. (As of lately, not always.)

I honestly don't like either candidate, and if YBNBY turned the table to a hard right bias for McCain, I would feel the same way.

I don't come here to be politically persuaded, I come here for a good time and entertainment. (This was once a "Pop Culture Blog" if anyone remembers.)

If I wanted all of this hard left wing shit, I'd find a left wing site.

I've gotten to the point where I can't have a hard time swallowing a leftist YBNBY agenda, and that is a big reason I don't come around much anymore.

Perhaps after the election, YBNBY won't suck so bad.

For Now, the new left wing YBNBY can suck my balls.

Hopefully will see you after the election.

Love Dave

said Dave on October 16, 2008 1:12 PM.

Oh no, we've lost him again. (Must tread gently) Dave, I didn't post the video to provide a "left wing agenda", I posted it to show ignorance. If these were statements made about a conservative politician, I would have posted it as well. Take politics out of the video and you'll see a very disturbing view of America.

And as for YBNBY promoting a "left wing agenda," if the Republicans didn't provide so much comedy fodder, we'd stick purely to the dick and fart jokes.

With all that, I hope we can all agree that I'm still an amazing person. Because I am, and you all know that.

said Echowood on October 16, 2008 1:32 PM.

We’ll see who’s ignorant when the leader of this country turns on you

said Dude on October 16, 2008 1:40 PM.

Side note: No, most Muslims are NOT terrorists. Most terrorists are Muslim, though.

said garrett on October 16, 2008 1:53 PM.

Just like everyone else in this country, they have a right to their opinion ... no matter how far from the popular opinion it is.

Those of us that are 'educated' on Obama know that these statements are based in ignorance of the facts.

I agree that publicizing shit like this does nothing to help the situation. Who benefits? What's the point? Echo, did you really need another video like this to know how diverse our country remains? Honestly, it shocks me that there are still people in this country that are not aware of how diverse we are.

The diversity of our people, together with the ability for all of us to have a voice and agree on a common goal, was the original foundation of this country. Did that change? There were 'extreme' views 250 years ago in this country and there are 'extreme' views today. There are radical conservative views and there are radical liberal views. This has existed, and will always exist in our society. In my opinion, tolerance is key.

The never-ending production, and continued publication, of these type of videos does absolutely nothing but embolden people with these views. Are they going to be ashamed into changing their views? No, they are going to defend them ... and the more they are publicly chastised, the more radical their response is going to be. It's human nature. It's similar to 'bullies' putting the smack down on 'rejects' in high school, then everyone being shocked when the bully is the first one knocked off when the kid freaks out and blows away half the school. None of the behavior is proper or justified. All accept blame in a situation that could have been avoided with everyone just being decent and tolerant of one another.

Everyone has a breaking point. Why does the media of today regularly act like they have a right to find it?

said Tim on October 16, 2008 2:04 PM.

Oh boy. I thought I recognized the Al-Jazeera logo, which was confirmed at the end of the video. I used to watch that channel on Dish Network (way pre-9/11) when I would install satellite dishes for doctors and such who wanted to keep up with the news from south asia. I never thought they had an anti-American bias, but they certainly aren't pro-American, either. Same can be said for the BBC, though.

garrett: You make a valid point, but a flawed argument. By your logic, the same can be true: "No, most white men are NOT serial killers. Most serial killers are white men."

Dude: what? Hasn't this already happened?

Dave: who makes you read every post? Personally I ignore the 'Wednesday is new comics day' stuff because I don't give a shit. Try that out, there is still a lot to offer here.

Ugh. Being a telephone customer care representative gives me, perhaps, a skewed version of the bulk of Americans, but I see this stuff all the time. Early this year I would debate my friends who would tell me that this country wasn't ready for a Black president. Maybe I was naive?

Reports like this one certainly don't show the view of everyone, and maybe they are just a fringe. I find them immensely entertaining, though. I found "Hard Candy" and "Boxing Helena" entertaining, too.

said Will on October 16, 2008 2:06 PM.

Dave once again proves that he is more eloquent and less verbose than I.

Nice job, my friend.

Echo, please know that my rant was not meant to be an attack on you personally. However, you can't deny the abundance of "let's expose the ignorance" articles lately; both here and all over the Internet. The constant barrage of this stuff under the guise of 'educating' us is insulting and, quite frankly, makes me dislike the liberal stance on things even more.

In my opinion, it dilutes the intelligent arguments and strong points that are made regularly in the liberal forum. In other words, while I may not agree with the liberal view on something, I respect an intelligent argument and a well-expressed point of view. Who doesn't appreciate intelligent bantor?

Call me emboldened.

said Tim on October 16, 2008 2:23 PM.

Dave: Hard left propaganda? They're calling the ignorant ignorant. Jesus man. Fuck. If we don't call ignorance what it is, its going to guide us for the rest of our lives.

The people on the left have just as many ignorant, barely educated, should just be shot, supporters. Like Michael Moore, and PETA. God I hate PETA. Fucking terrorists.

On both sides of the issues we have to recognize people who are uninformed and just spreading hate and lies.

I am fed up with the so-called "good Christians" dictating and judging and killing other people. If the Republicans win again, Iran will be the next country to be abolished. Yeah, yeah, what happened on 9/11 was a tragedy, but we have killed over a million Iraqis so far...isn't it ever enough?????? Huh??????

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 3:01 PM.

Just to play Devils advocate here, Bill Ayers can be described as a terrorist no? And Obama has had some association with him true?

said E on October 16, 2008 3:20 PM.

Laura - Please don't cast those views on all Republicans, or Republican administrations. The policies of this adminstration have proven to be ill-conceived, poorly-planned and improper. But, that has not been true for other administrations.

There have been administrations on both sides that have been shit.

That said, I love the Lennon quote. This world would be much better off had he lived. Tragic for us all that he is not around.

said Tim on October 16, 2008 3:21 PM.

Well, Tim, I disagree.

In my lifetime, I've seen entire elections swayed on smaller issues like abortion and gay rights.
Not that these aren't important, but geeeez...they directly affect a smaller part of the population.
People are voting for Obama because they are broke and need to feed their families. Nobody really gives a damn about spreading democracy or unborn babies, sheesh!

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 3:29 PM.

I agree that the people in the video are ignorant.
I'm not standing up for that.
I'm just sharing my opinion as a reader. I seriously used to enjoy the hell out of YBNBY, but it has become so damn left that I guess it is only appealing to the Left.
If I wanted that I would go to Bill Maher. If I wanted hard right I would go to Rush Limbaugh.
I don't want either.
This site has become an extension of Bill Maher.
Echo I think YBNBY lost me a while ago.
I did however like your piece proclaiming yourself as a cat lover. That's the kind of shit I like.
It's just the site has become so damn left wing that I find myself bored to my nuts. I mean bored to my very large nuts.
If you think ignorance or political comedy only exists on the right, you are ignorant yourself.
I know I'm overly sensitive, but if I'm going to give my time and energy to a site, I need to be able to make fun of everyone not just one group of people.
I seriously would love to see YBNBY make Mouch and all of the writers a lot of money, that's why I give my input. If I am bored I want you to know that.
I'm an average guy with better than average looks and a larger than average penis.
I think that if I am bored there there are alot of others that are bored with me.
I'm just trying to help.
Seriously when was the last time YBNBY had a column with over 100 comments?
I don't think that I am the only one getting bored.
Will-Damn, I've been skipping new comics day ever since I got here, but now I find myself skipping 90 percent of the stuff written.
I don't want that.
There was a time that a challenge from Echo excited the hell out of me. I personally thought this site kicked serious ass. Now, I'm so damn bored with the leftist shit that I think I missed the last Dave's Challenge.
KBK-I would almost take offense to your statement but the anti-PETA propaganda reminded me why I like you. I like you even if you don't like me.
Tim-I appreciate you always having my back. I think outside of the internet, we would probably be good pals.

Here's Daves Challenge for YBNBY-
Win me back, and win me back by not selling out your leftist readers.
Make me unproductive at work again.
Do that and I think you will win back a few lost readers and YBNBY would kick ass once again.

McSame / Failin'

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 3:42 PM.

Laura,

I'm sorry, but I must be missing something. Why does the reason why someone is voting today versus why they voted in previous elections have anything to do with a wholesale boycott of all Republicans and their policies?

And I can assure you that there are plenty of people in this country that 'are broke and need to feed their families' that are definitely not voting for Obama.

Are you telling me that I need to cancel my trip to Vegas for a good maverick?

said Tim on October 16, 2008 3:53 PM.

Will- "garrett: You make a valid point, but a flawed argument. By your logic, the same can be true: "No, most white men are NOT serial killers. Most serial killers are white men.""

This is true. I expect that police use the white guy statistic when profiling serial killers too.

said E on October 16, 2008 3:57 PM.

Sorry KBK. Still like ya.

Laura, did you come up with that on your own???

said Dave on October 16, 2008 4:03 PM.

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 4:41 PM.

But..but, Dave!
Aren't you going to pray for me in your church?
(Hint: when a Christian Republican says "they will pray for you", what they really mean is" F*@# you!"

You Republicans are all alike.
First you want to steal our wallets, then you want to steal our souls!

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 4:46 PM.

Laura-I haven't given my presidential endorsement to anyone. Why would you be laughing at me?

said Dave on October 16, 2008 4:47 PM.

Maverick to ya, Tim!

I just get mad and frustrated at the Christian Right base.
Don't think it is right for any group to hide under god to look down on and control others.
And they do sway entire elections this way.

Imagine if there were no religions.

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 4:56 PM.

Not really a leftist, Dave.
Wasn't going to vote for Obama initially...still think he is a phoney, elitist politician. He isn't any more in touch with you or I.
Wasn't going to vote for anyone at all...but Sarah Palin cured me of that.
Then I realized, McSame/Falin'...isn't working...guaranteed ticket to nowhere.
Even though I don't trust Obama at least this will be a brand new fresh hell for us...a wildcard in the mix if you will.
I'd get the hell outta this country if I could.
The USA Titanic has already been hit and is goin' down...don't matter as much as it is the black man or the white man at the helm...well...the black man just does a better presentation, that's all.

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 5:03 PM.

"I'd get the hell out of this country if I could"

Wrong words for me to read from an American.

If you will promise to leave the country for good, I will promise to pay for your plane ticket.

Where would you go that would be better than the U.S.?

I say get the hell out it's not that hard.
Tijuana is only about 5 hours from Las Vegas.
They won't even check you at the border.

said Dave on October 16, 2008 5:13 PM.

Why here in Vegas, even the Mexicans are jumping across the border back into Mexico! Ha ha ha, Dave!
You are so out of touch!

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 5:22 PM.

'Even the Mexicans' - are you implying Mexicans are lesser in some way?

said E on October 16, 2008 5:30 PM.

Perhaps my words are wrong for you to hear, Dave.
But then again, I did the unorthodox thing back in 2006 by selling my house for top dollar...before the housing bubble burst.
Unlike most Americans, I still have my equity cash in hand today, because I didn't use it to pay off credit cards for stupid things like Nikes or Starbucks purchases.
All those silly people laughing at me with their SUV's.
Now I'm the one laughing at the pump with my gasoline efficient compact car.
So keep laughing at me.
I'm prepared because I look out for #1 and don't ever really expect my government to take care of me. I gave up on them years ago.

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 5:31 PM.

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 5:36 PM.

I'm going to step away from the conversation.
I didn't pick on the special kids in school and I won't do it as an adult.

To the Staff of YBNBY, Laura can have my spot in the loyal 77.
I think she fits the new demographic group you have been setting your sights on.

said Dave on October 16, 2008 5:39 PM.

Laura -

All I can say to you is that there is a big difference between your average, hard-working person that happens to identify more with the Republican party beliefs and your average, hard-working radical conservative.

I take offense to being lumped together with the radical conservatives just because I happen to identify more with the Republican party.

In other words, don't assume that it's OK to put a child rapist and a double murderer in the same cell and expect everything to be cozy just because they both seem like criminals to you.

said Tim on October 16, 2008 5:40 PM.

said Dave on October 16, 2008 5:47 PM.

Tim, I have a great deal of respect for you.
And you are right, perhaps not all are bad.

But if you remove the "family values"/church base platform...who do you really have left in the Republican Party?

Imagine no political parties.
As long as we keep fighting against each other, divided, we will never win.
Male vs. female, black vs. white, rich vs. poor, religious vs. non-religious, "Liberal vs. Conservative", intellectual vs. uneducated.

These labels only serve to keep us fighting against each other.
As long as we generalize and call each other names, we can never focus on the issues.
Kudos to you too, Dave.

said E on October 16, 2008 5:57 PM.

Maybe I'm not prepared, but I try to be.
I don't have any guns & ammo and a supply of canned goods on hand in my house...perhaps I should.
Naw...don't like guns and won't buy one.
I'm no Christian, but I do like that "Thou shalt not kill" part.
I've never understood why it is ok to kill people just because your government and society says that is...especially if they ship you overseas and you were just following orders.
(But you didn't have to sign up in the first place, right?)
But maybe I do need to stock up on Spaghettio's just in case the empire does fall further..

I just try to live the best that I can day to day.
I've grown used to fending for myself and don't expect some smooth talking politician to come in and save me by telling me what I want to hear for my vote while they side with the corporations once again.

Seriously.
I am diagnosing menopause or illicit drug use.

said Dave on October 16, 2008 6:55 PM.

Laura -

Your comments about no political parties, etc .... is spot on. My guess is that most people would prefer things to be the way you propose; open politics with no labels and freedom to vote according to your beliefs on individual topics.

Unfortunately, that is not reality. For better or worse, our system is what it is and we have to learn to live within it, or push for change accordingly.

said Tim on October 16, 2008 7:09 PM.

So to clarify thus far..

But what if I don't fit neatly into Dave's narrow demographic?

What if I simply disagree and am not retarded, 10 years old, drug addict, menopausal? Why do I need to show my real photo to Dave so he can buy me a plane ticket? Why hasn't he left the comments section yet...like he threatened to do so?

Because the empire is falling and all of the insults in the world won't make it so.
It just makes Dave feel better about himself to put me down instead of facing the fact that governments and politicians ...aren't really your friends and are not going to save you....much easier to call me names.

Dave?
If you're still here...you aren't counting on that social security check, are you?

said Dave's World on October 16, 2008 7:22 PM.

I've also been avoiding YBNBY for a while now. There's no doubt which candidate gets the love around here. Personally, I think they both suck and both will get us in a deeper hole. My issue is that the contributors on this site like to pretend that the Republican party is the only party with ignorant douche bags. Come on...you can't dig up one link that shows the other side? This site used to be fun, but now its only for Democrat homers. What a shame.

I Love you all like my own weird little extended family, let me say that first.

Now, with the greatest respect, Everyone please just SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

Republicans, democrats, liberals, conservatives, every last one of them wants one thing and one thing only. To serve themselves. Obama, McCain, Palin, Biden, Bush, every last one of them is a media whore. none of them have the public interest at heart. It's a load of cockamamie Bullshit. Every single politician from the president on down to the city council of bumfuck east idaho aligns themselves with the party that they believe can profit them the best.

Dave, This is still a pop culture blog. Thats what the presidential election means these days. It's a media circus. Neither the election nor the office it is for has a shred of dignity or integrity left.

At this point the only politician i have any respect for is Dick Cheney.

Yes that's right i said Dick Cheney. He is a selfish, twisted, evil, Emperor Palpatine type. He Knows it, He Admits it, and he doesn't even pretend to be something he's not. I don't like him, But i respect his honesty. He also never tried to be president. He knows that that's not where the power is.

This race has turned into flaming stupidity on every channel.

Now i'll get down off my soapbox. I apologize for any stepped on toes, but this Left-Right, Red-Blue shit is a Stupid, Stupid thing to be fighting about

p.s. Echo - I understood the point of the video at least. There are a lot of racist, underinformed idiots left in the world. This is why we need better education in this country. Too bad the clowns in washington don't want us educated. If we were better educated, we'd catch them with their hands in our pockets. It's easy to rob someone blind if they're hypnotized by the circus on TV

S.P. - I hear what you are saying. Like you, I really try to be the voice of reason. Sometimes I even make myself gag with all the "can't we all just get along" talk I preach.

Still, there are some things in which I cannot force myself to paddle in the middle of the stream. Being pelted with media on the same subject ad nauseam is one of them.

If you don't feel like you are being pelted with leftist shit all the time, let's just take our beloved website as an example. Take a look at the ads on the right side of the main page. Take a look at the logo at the top.

Hey, this is their site and they can do what they want. But don't call it unbiased, or educational, or fact-finding. It's clear what it is.

said Tim on October 16, 2008 8:52 PM.

Hey everyone. I've been to busy at work the last couple of days to get involved in these discussions, but Dave's point is well taken, and so it Pablo's. Things have gotten pretty political here over the last month, and I know it's hurting our traffic numbers . I met Baierman for lunch and we talked about this concern - we must be alienating every republican or conservative reader we ever had, and dave - your name came up as someone we were worried about losing. I said that I was surprised you even came around anymore, but baier assured me that you were too busy hunting to notice.

It's a hard call - this was always meant to be a humorous pop culture blog, but like it or not, pop culture is currently very focussed on politics. I think we'd be doing a disservice if we just ignored it.

I'll make no excuses about having socialist tendencies myself - as a Brit, being a socialist isn't quite the dark slur that some over here seem to make it. Growing up, socialism was embodied by The Labor Party, the party of Harold Wilson, the party of what we called the working class and what you guys call blue collar workers - the good honest British man on the street. Socialism is not necessarily a bad thing in a country where power and money resides in the hand of an elite aristocracy that you have to be born into and have kept the general population in check for many hundreds of years.

And while I wouldn't necessarily say YBNB Y is leftist, I also wouldn't see that label as an insult. I'm pro choice, anti-corporate, I believe in a national health system, and free education, and I'm personally happy having to pay higher taxes as my debt to society, as long as the money is well spent.

We've only been going 3 years so this is the first time we've blogged through an election, but we've always had an anti-Bush stance, that I would say isn't really anti-Bush or Pro Obama or anti-McCain. We're left leaning liberals, which shouldn't be that much of a surprise as most of us are based in NY.

And Dave, like I've told you before, no way will I ever unconditionally love a country. America needs to earn my respect by being the better than those morons in the video, and actively calling them out.

If anyone can point me to a video that uses the same strategy to belittle Democrats, bring it on and i'll feature it. I'm not sure exactly what kind of idiots it would show though - somebody who's so unracist or unmysoginistic or overly tolerant that it's funny?

Interesting points Scara. What does it mean to love, or hate, a country? If you have a large enough group of people, won't there always be some good guys and some assholes?

My guess is when someone feels one way or the other, they pick a sample group to back up their pre-existing inclinations and imagine that group as representative of the whole, thus justifying their predjudices.

Could be wrong though.

/me changes the YBNBY logo back as a sign of bipartisan goodwill, and goes to look on Youtube for videos of girls kissing.

Scara - "point me to a video that uses the same strategy to belittle"

That's my whole point. Why do we need such videos? They accomplish nothing but provoke and antagonize.

These people don't need education. They don't want education. Who are we to assume that they need to be saved? Get the cameras out of their face and quit giving them voice.

'Ohhh, but what about the children, Tim. We have to save their kids!!!' Give me a break. Let's save our own kids. I'm already having a hard enough time trying to steer my children down the fine line between the growing radical groups on each side.

Quit exploiting the idiots! Live and let live.

said Tim on October 16, 2008 9:21 PM.

I'm not sure you can just say 'live and let live" to a bunch of racists who talk about having a"nigger in the Whitehouse". Isn't that like saying "Oh that wacky Klan with their spooky halloween robes" or "The Nazis were very misunderstood, c'est la vie"? Ignoring it doesn't make the problem go away - you need to shine a light on it until you force it to change.

I am a 'lurker'.

This is my first and probably last comment.
I enjoy Dave's point of view as well as a few other 'regulars'. This site has totally changed lately and has changed for the worse.
The sexy fun side of YesButNoButYes no longer exists and it makes me want to cry.

said cindy on October 16, 2008 10:14 PM.

I would say theres intolerance in both camps. Anti-christian bias isn't better than anti-muslim bias, at least if the problem is with bias and not the underlying belief systems in itself. Same with anti-Americanism, etc.

Just saying btw. I'm actually down for talking trash.

Scara - I agree with you in principle, but that didn't look like a Klan meeting to me.

There are people in this country that have lived a certain way of life for generations. They currently live with the values and lessons taught by their grandparents. Sure, it is backwards and seemingly uneducated to the rest of us. But it is the way they live ... and they have a right to live it. That includes their right to have isolationist-type views.

Now say you, or I, or anyone else decide that these people have different ideas from us and it is troubling that these views exist in our country. So, in the interest of 'exposing' these views and getting some education to them, we invade their world, stick a camera in their face and ask them to justify themselves. I tell you what, if I was continually badgered about my views, constantly asked to justify how I feel, just because it isn't mainstream, it isn't going to force me to reconsider anything. It's going to piss me off, and cause me to take offense at the invasion. Especially if it is something that I believe because that is what my beloved grandpa taught me to be true ... that is a hard thing for me to sit back and let you spit on.

Why do we do this? Who are they bothering? It's not like they were running Klan meetings and someone showed up with a camera there. (In fact, why DON'T we have such videos? Where's Perez Hilton et al when the Klan meetings are going on?) I just find it troubling that these people don't have a right to feel the way they do, but it's OK for people to use the very same 'freedom of speech' to exploit these views through media. I don't understand it, or understand why anyone can believe that it accomplishes anything except feed media frenzy.

Forced change? Take a look at what happened here in the 60's. That's is what forced change will get you. Riots and tension all over the South.

Martin Luther King was a great man. He knew that forced change wasn't the answer. He knew that mass demonstrations of people with one common goal sent a powerful message. He knew that an educated, passionate speech about what things were wrong and why they needed to be changed could educate more people than 'exploiting the idiots' ever could. Sure, he probably had his faults as well. But, I don't recall any of his demonstrations organized so as to exploit.

For issues like this, we need more men (or women) like him.

To your point, I will say this ... organized groups that sponsor the kind of thinking that is meant to harm people need to be confronted and dealt with accordingly. This is true for Klan. This was true for Nazi Germany. This is true for Al Qaeda.

The people I've seen in the videos lately don't fit into the same category.

Don't cry Cindy, I'm listening to all the feedback, and we'll do what we need to to make you all happy.

said Scaramouch on October 16, 2008 10:40 PM.

Yo Scara, on the plus side, it's been quite the discussion. Good stuff on both sides.

said E on October 16, 2008 10:51 PM.

Also, we are in a weird time. Sometimes you'll hear the two major parties in the upcoming election are the same thing. Less so this election. If there was a draft I bet this country would be much like it was in the 60's.

said E on October 16, 2008 10:54 PM.

E - I think you are right.

Except Obama is not Martin Luther King, Jr. , although it is quite apparent that he does possess a great, inspirational speaking style with class.
So much so, that last night..I almost forgot how much I hated him for the sexist remarks made against Hillary....just like he made McCain sputter and tweak.

Hillary who wears ...SHOCK...pantsuits!

But wait! Entertainment Tonight praised Sarah Palin for her pantsuit!

I never liked how Obama almost divided his own party.
I never liked how Obama praised Republican Ronald Regan in a speech, while trashing the Clintons in the next breath.
Like Bill Clinton never did anything for the black man?
Come on!
How soon they forget the surplu$ he left America back in 2000.

My greatest fear is that if you don't agree with what Obama has to say, then you will be labeled the dreaded, evil word...."RACIST!"

We already have one Spike Lee in America.
Do we need another?

If only last night's debate was this good...

When I found this site a few months back, I thought it was just about the greatest thing ever. Now, not so much....

I agree that pop culture now involves politics, but can we please just give it a rest? I go to similar sites for a good laugh and something to talk about besides politics.
Help me out, please.

said shadow_74 on October 17, 2008 12:41 AM.

S.P. - Ironic, isn't it. We watch last night's debate for its entertainment value, then come here today for spirited political and moral debate.
