Or does she?? There's more after the jump, and all is not as it seems...
The above photograph is the work of Alison Jackson, a British artist who's speciality is finding lookalikes and creating stills and videos that seem to be the real thing. On her site she has a whole gallery, including a faux Britney taking off her knickers, Not The Queen washing dishes, and a lookalike Elton John getting a vacuum enema where the sun never goes down on him.

While many of the images are focussed around British royalty and celebs, there's also some with international appeal. In this interview, Jackson says:
They are images that have existed in the public mind. I'm not doing anything that hasn't already been visited out in the public mind. So that's what I'm fascinated with. My work's not about the real celebrity; it's about how the stories and the myths get told around that celebrity.
Check out this longer video where the artist talks about her work and methods. Fascinating stuff.

That picture or "Diana" flippin' the bird on her site is the best thing I've seen in a long, long while.
Thanks for posting this. I usually look to YBNBY for humor and a day lightener but that really helped my thoughts on photography and its importance today, on the implied veracity of a photographic image and how much we'd want those to be real.
