It's videos like this that make me wish I could date Sarah Silverman, or I was Jewish, or had Grandparents that lived in Florida. For more information (trust me, you don't have to be Jewish to go here) check out The Great Schlep.

Thanks E, Now I have coffee stains on my papers!
Thought you'd love this.
Phone Atone.

I love this.....it's great to see her being more smart than crass for a change too....the tracksuits thing killed me....
I broke S.O.'s first rule again. I loved it!
CLC....
okay...here's the technique....minimize your screen to take a full drink of coffee...when you safely swallow it (oh, here come all of the comments), then maximize the screen again...
I was in the process of swallowing as I read your comment, and broke the rule again when reading "...when you safely swallow it..."
(I'll lead off with the tasteless humor)
Sarcastic One, will you teach me how to swallow?
Sure!!! it's all about relaxing your throat...which means no thinking about the economy, the President, the presidential race, the....oh crap...there are going to be a LOT fewer guys getting blow jobs if this nation doesn't shape up soon!!!!
ironic since our country is run by a bush and dick partnership....
Come to think of it, though, men might not be interested in sex anyway....after all, Wall Street is sucking them dry while the feds fuck them over....
So I think all of their needs have been met.
So in other words, don't use the Lewinsky technique. Got it.
On the contrary, I think there will be more guys getting blow jobs from the gals AND guys that will be giving them - in order to subsidize their incomes if the nation doesn't shape up soon!
But who can afford a professional these days? Certainly not the Wall St guys...
Maybe oil men...
But even hookers have standards.
I'm getting some of the "Wall Street Love" too. They should just take the damn stock ticker down for a couple of years.
Now I wait anxiously to see how they decide to handle the bailout - Spit or Grease.
Is anyone else concerned with the 3 page length for the bailout proposal? I have to write papers longer than that...double spaced is about 200-350 words a page.
So assume single spaced. Up it to 700 words a page.
The government is going to solve a $700 billion problem with 2100 words?
Have we seen it? Are we sure it doesn't just layout Congress' "golden parachute/exile to a nation without extradition rights" plan?
You're right, the Wall Street guys can't afford them anymore and the oil men can. I see a market for "Teaching Wall Street How To Swallow" come to think of it. I think the information will prove to be handy in their new professions. Not to mention, they will still get to service the oil men...and still make a little cash.
I just want jump in here real quick and let you know that this is a very proud moment for the YBNBY-nation. I have this thread projected on a 10-foot by 20 foot wall with a 15-second refresh.
Forgive me if I ignore the homosexual references; that's not my thing.
I'm so happy. What a joyous day!
Ladies, continue ...
Ah....but don't the lobbyists already do that for free?
You are right, though....Wall Street needs to swallow--hard.
Maybe they should be 'working' on the members of Congress as we speak?
OR is that what is taking this process so long....let's see...100 members of Congress, 435 Representatives...
geez...it'll be next week before they get this ironed out...
Tim...I wouldn't be too happy if I were you...you ARE our monkey/chimp write-in vote...which means you could inherit this whole mess come January 22nd...
Yeah the three pages made me chuckle a bit. The love letter I got from an illiterate stalker was longer than three pages. I guess there aren't too many ways to stretch out "owned".
c'mon they're lawyers.....legalese can make even the sentence "the American people are fucked" into a 20 page document...(because as lawyers they have to document every position, tie up every loophole, etc)
I think they whipped that up quickly to get on to the servicing....
CLC - 'owned'. That's classic! Great commentary.
Sarcky - The 3 pager was an outline that Paulson submitted as a framework from which to start talking. As you would expect, it has become well over 40 pages now. (At least that's what I've heard.)
If this package goes through and it contains pork, or saddles taxpayers with the (yet unknown) full burden of this debacle, there will be mutiny. Don't get me started ...
What kind of mutiny?
We can't exactly leave...because most nations won't take our one language speaking butts in (speaking for myself--I've tried to learn other languages and can't get past shopping and ordering drinks)(which is why I admire Leo so much--he writes better than 1/2 our native speakers)--especially with our government's treatment of immigration issues...
Are we going to quit our jobs to avoid paying taxes?
Are we going to badmouth all of our politicians?
geez....we're like Bambi on ice right now--trying to stand up for ourselves and just making everyone laugh hysterically at us...
Tim - I understand the 3 pages were merely an outline, but even for an outline, it was kinda thin to me. Perhaps they should have called it "action items", or "list of CEOs who owe us money" (the list is single spaced, with 5 pt. font) - something along those lines.
S.O. - With everyone is laughing at us, just imagine how many would love to take advantage of our financial vulnerability.
Moreover, imagine how many prostitutes will feel this pinch when their corners start to fill up with competition.
CLC, I believe they already have done so...
I have been saying for several years (out loud but to myself, apparently) (yes, conversation with yourself means talking to a wise person) that any nation that wants to crumble us will attack our economy, not our military. (lesson learned in the Cold War, I suppose)
Right now I have one professor who has Russian oil stock shares while another owns Chinese stock...nice faith in your own nation guys!
The mutiny will come at the polls and in the economy.
With millions of baby-boomers retiring every year, the investing industry has changed forever. Wall Street is going to be cash-starved for years to come. We're stuck in a rut until the real problem (freefalling home values) is addressed. We have to deal with the crisis in asset valuations. Only then will people have confidence to empty their mattresses and put their money to work. Some of the baby-boomer money will never come back.
The House of Representatives is so large it's a joke. Most of the Senators act like they're Hollywood stars. The President is a P.R. buffoon. And our nation's foremost leaders are paraded in front of Congress for two days of useless questioning by people that are so ignorant of the real causes of our current problems that they can't even formulate intelligent questions to ask.
The rhetoric surrounding this is embarassing. I've never been more ashamed to be a Republican and more proud to not be a Democrat. Bambi on ice is about right ...
Tim, come join Mr.Wright and me on the Unaffiliated fence...it's nice up here...
(Tim - that's why I'm a CLC)
Very good point. I do find some solace in the fact that I'm young enough to rebound if a good plan is in place.
It's not about Republican or Democratic positions anymore. Besides there are no party affiliations in socialism. Yes, I said it. It's where we're begrudgingly headed I'm afraid.
I should write a bloated, long-winded column about the problems of the two major parties. Maybe it could help.
Nader in 2008!
Echo, that's just nasty. You're a sick man.
If ever there was a time for a wealthy American with common sense, the stomach to deal with policians and few skeletons in the closet to step up and get serious consideration via write-in vote, now is that time.
Living in a border state would be a big plus as well!
Oops, I meant politicians.
Although, somehow policians sounds better.
I love it when celebs make fun of other celebs for taking themselves to seriously.
