Periodically I come across weird facts that are so unique I have to learn more. (I'm sure it's happened to you as well.) A few month back there was the chicken's fate - how you could hypnotize a chicken by drawing a line on the ground.
Well yesterday someone told me that if you drop a raisin in a fresh glass of champagne it would neither float or sink, but continue to bounce up and down.
Huh?
Seems like it's true...
I'm guessing this is partly because of carbonation, but perhaps one of you more enlightened minds would care to educate mine.

I believe that is due to VRUSP or in layman's terms, Vocal Reverberation Under Spinal Pressure.
I think you'll find any small light object in carbonated liquid does the same. Last time i was in Boston, I went to the Boston Beerworkswhere they do a blueberry beer, with real blueberries. Here's the video I shot on my Treo that night:

The bubbles in the carbonation attach to the blueberry until it is light enough to float to the surface. Once it breaks the surface, the bubbles pop, and the blueberry sinks. Repeat.
Well, its either that or its VRUSP. We'll let the facts speak for themselves. Know-it-all.
Doesn't make it any less cool though. It also works in boones farm wine for those of us who can't afford champagne.
Had never heard of that, pretty cool and good for some trivia. Also, Mary is hot.
The chica is hot and easily amused. What's her number? Also, Boones is better than Champagne anyway. What Pablo said.
Aha! There's a conversation starter for my housewarming party!
E - I think she might be a little young ...
Man law: Facts proven by cute girls are facts that are more true.
Well said B. Well said.
like i said guys, the girls a freakin jedi...
she's got the jedi mind tricks goin there, thats what it is
i don't think so, Jedi Mind Tricks' songs don't sound like that.
It's probably because of Chris Angel. After all, he can walk through solid glass. A bouncing raisin shouldn't be a problem.
I guess there is something to be said about pot expanding ones mind.
