I'm on site in Pittsburgh for the New American Music Union, a two day concert created by American Eagle Outfitters. I've got an all access pass, so I'll be posting multiple stories over the next couple of days as the concert progresses, hopefully including some pics and and video footage.
The day kicks off later this afternoon with a press conference with Anthony Kiedis of Red Hot Chili Peppers, plus some of the bands. Then the music begins at 6.30pm, with performances by Tiny Masters Of Today, NASA, The Black Keys and finally The Roots.
Tomorrow, we'll see 15 of the country's top college bands compete on a second stage, with main stage performances by The Duke Spirit, Black Mountain, Gnarls Barkley, Spoon, The Raconteurs and finally Bob Dylan.
The site is a hive of activity right now - it's an open air concert, taking place on a disused parking lot next to the American Eagle HQ, and by tonight it'll hold a sell out crowd of 10,000 people. We took the above video yesterday of the trucks bringing in and setting up the stage.
Stay tuned, and if you are one of the four winners of tickets we gave away here a few weeks ago, come find me. I'll be wearing a YBNBY T Shirt.
