Stand Up To Cancer
As the humble son of an amazing cancer survivor, I feel justified about using this forum to bring a wee bit of attention to a worthy cause.

Please take a moment to visit standup2cancer.org. There you can learn more about the ongoing fight against cancer. The group is continuing the noble effort to raise awareness and resources to fight this dreaded disease.

Yes, that is Eddie Vedder's song Rise used in the PSA. Ed gave Stand Up 2 Cancer the song to use for the campaign.

I love you Dad.

Good night and good luck.

I work in a field that can help cancer patients, and while there's some cool and promising treatments, there is still no cure. I can get behind this. Thanks for the info.

I hate that schmaltzy stuff where advertisers yank at your heartstrings and try and get you to cry...

...and I love it when something so subtle and lovely like this comes along and I sit at my desk and cry.

I stand up to cancer for my mom--a two-time survivor of breast cancer, yet still manages to find the time to drive me insane! Love you, Mom!

Thank you Chris. Stand up...

You guys are supposed to make me laugh dammit...

Going from pissing me off about Critical Mass to reminding me about my Mothers long and lost fight with ovarian cancer in one day is just not right.

God I miss her. Way to fucking much. She would have been 60 this year. I'll be 30 on the 17th. She should fucking be here for this, hell, she adopted me when she was 30, she could have at least lived to see me turn it. My brother, God my poor brother, had to graduate high school without her months after we lost her. Cancer sure is a motherfucking bitch.

Thanks guys... I promised I wouldn't let myself cry about this this week but sure enough, ya go ahead and donkey punch me.

I'm standing.

This song is truly amazing and very inspiring. I am a professional Mariah Carey Lookalike www.laurasmariah.com and my mother was just diagnosed with advanced breast cancer this July so this song has very special meaning to me as it has hit close to home..It is a struggle but if I can make a difference by doing fundraising efforts I will and have done many regarding all types of cancers and will continue to help in any way..
