Polygamist clothes are hot. 18th century Mormon hot. But the Texas sect under investigation, the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints, is hoping the runaway crowd catches on and so do you. They need the cash to pay for the legal defense and genetic counseling. Anyway, a visit to FLDSdress.com is worth it just to see the freak show on the main page. (Poor kids.) Browse through shirts, overalls, underwear (sexy baby), nightgowns, trousers but not pants, sleepers, dresses and the mysterious 'other' collection.

And parents, you have no worries about your kids dressing like sluts and freaks cause polygamist fashion is dedicated to providing "children with clothing that meets the FLDS standards for modesty and neatness."

Neatness, damn skippy!

What a pity, no instructions on how to style your hair FDLS style. I so totally wanted to rock that look for the 4th. What the hell is that anyway? It's a mix between A Flock of Seagulls and the Flowbe commercial. Do they use Aquanet? Are they allowed to use hairspray? Why must the little girls coif their hair in such a manner also? Do they have a salon at their compound? Inquiring minds need to know! Oh, and they don't look very tidy, what with their unwaxed eyebrows and flyaway hair.

With all the women looking like that and they are polygamists? WTF!
I'd prefer to be alone than hanging out with some gross-looking-ten-layers-of-clothes girl...

So not to change the subject but am I the only one who noticed that Trailwaze hasn't been around?
I haven't seen any comments from him for a few days. Iv'e gotta admit I kind of miss the little guy.
However, I think that I may be on to something.
Trailwaze dissapeared and all of a sudden this Jeni Gump appeared with comments remarkably similar to Trailwaze but from a female point of view. Could it be that Jeni Gump and Trailwaze are the same person???
Could it be that all this time we assumed that Trailwaze was a man that in reality it was Jeni Gump just wanting to be herself?
And now we really have the true trailwaze as Jeni GumP?
Am I the only one with these questions???

Jeni, I'm searching for a link to solve your hairstyling inquiry. If I find something, I"ll post it on breakfast links.

Surely that was an intentional typo in the second sentence:
"... is hoping the runaway crowd catches on... "

Runway crowd = fashionistas
Runaway crowd = under-18s wearing those dresses

Haha, good point Dave... I'm missing Trailwaze's comments too, but I didn't imagine him and Jeni as counterparts...

I checked out that site ... and is it just me, or are those clothes hella (you should pardon the expression) expensive? Sixty, seventy bucks for baby clothes? How does an LDS guy manage to clothe his dozens and dozens of kids at those prices?

said Spooky Pook on July 3, 2008 8:24 PM.

See, they make all the clothes on the compound so they only pay for material, I guess. And they're passing the expense on to you adding labor and lawyers fees. Course, a good ugly frock should cost as much as a dumb shirt from GAP. Anyone who buys LDS stuff is their sucker.

Runway crowd = the fashion industry.

said Baierman on July 3, 2008 9:36 PM.

I noticed that in all the pictures these women are very thin and in great shape. No Fatties allowed in the compound.

Are the bodies due to healthy diet and hard work or are all the LARGE MARGE types kicked out? If it is a sex cult the guys would only want the hotties with the bodies, which would support the second theory.

said drHoward on July 4, 2008 12:20 AM.

Good noticing Dr. Howard. But i have no idea if they kick all the fatties out or just make them have so much sex till they get thin.

said Baierman on July 4, 2008 7:47 AM.

Maybe that's because they spend half the day taking care of the home and child, and the other half, making more babies... when they're not with one already on their belly...

said Leonardo Carvalho on July 5, 2008 11:58 PM.

I'm not Trailwaze Dave... and thanks for looking for the link Baierman. I'm still catching up from this weekend so when I'm done here, I'll check the links out.
