It's my favorite time of year again.
Time to celebrate the land of the freedom fries and home of the Atlanta Braves. Here's a slew of links to July 4th happenings around this great nation.
DC: The National Mall fireworks/symphony show is awesome. You can no longer bring booze to the Mall and your stuff will be searched, but the fireworks still kick ass. I totally recommend this one.
Chicago: The US Navy is ready to party again after a few years off after 9/11. They're putting on a big display at the Navy Pier and to prove it they've got Night Ranger headlining the main stage. Can Grucci choreograph explosions to Sister Christian?
Pittsburgh: It's the last day of the Three Rivers Regatta. Head on down to see fast boats, sailboats, pleasure boats, boat races, a fireworks and laser light show plus a whole runaway train full of patriotism with Soul Asylum.
Much more after the jump.

NYC: Independence Day is the perfect day to tour NYC. First because the city is empty, most everyone clears out. Second, cause Macy's shoots off all their glory rockets in the East River, starting at 9pm.
Miami: If you can stand the heat, Bayfront Park is having America's Birthday Bash all day with fireworks at 9. I hope they'll be cake.
Austin: Bring a blanket, a bottle of bubbly and a picnic dinner as the Austin Symphony plays free under the lights of red, white and blue explosions.
New Orleans: Go to the river. The levees haven't exploded but overhead the fireworks soon will. The Big Easy has the 5th ranked display in the US, which I guess is a good thing.
London: The Brits have no reason to celebrate this day, but the US Embassy and some US hot spots across the Atlantic are serving special lunches and having theme parties.
St. Louis: This Summer will be live off the Levee. (Their words not mine.) A big fireworks display caps a 3 day festival by the river and near the big Arch.
Seattle: WaMu sponsors the Family 4th. An all day bash which also is one of the "Top 5 Fireworks Displays in the US."
Los Angeles: Brace yourself LA, this July 4th could be biggest every. Possibly the day Angelina gives birth!
Let me know what's happening where you live and I'll try to include links. Have a happy and safe Independence Day.
