Every so often I stumble across something the world wide interwebs that makes my day a bit better.
Such as this:
A bloke named Gus from Scotland that makes simple videos of he and his buddies covering old rock and roll classics with plastic ukuleles, melodicas, maracas, beat up suitcases and other thrift shop instruments. I think the guy is incredible.
More about Gus and more videos after the jump.

I don't know anything about Gus except he's Scottish and has good taste in music and guitars. He also has good taste in hats.
What I find interesting is Guy seems to be a normal chap who loves music. So he makes these videos and sends them out for others to enjoy. It seems that simple.
He has impeccable taste. From the Ramones to Johnny Cash to The Skatalites to TV theme songs to Ennio Morricone.
These are some of my favorites...
Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones. (This song is my ringtone.)
Folsom County Prison Blues by Johnny Cash.
The Theme From Fistful of Dynamite by Ennio Morricone
The Theme from Georgy Girl.
And finally:
Ruby by Kenny "What the Hell Happened To My Face" Rogers.
Simple and pure. Ukulele and melodica. Piss and vinegar.
What music should be; enjoyable. And not make you want to take a shower after hearing it.
Keep it rockin' Gus. Cheers.

They sound really great!
Wooooa! Brilliant Johnny. Makes my day (big cheesy grin). Is this the New Sound of Young Scotland? Alan Horne would be proud.
Hats off to Gus...and to the other guy who looks like that steely dan guy.
I know. It's hard not to smile when you hear a ukulele. I've read that George Harrison used to have dinner parties and afterwards he would crack out the ukuleles for sing-a-longs. Imagine being in that room.
The other guy in the videos is a chap named Fin. He too has music:
