While this project started as an in-joke between two of my co-workers, I still felt Pictures of Bacon for Karen was worth sharing, since it celebrates two of your universal favorite pastimes: bacon and wasting time at work.
For the past year or so, my buddy Andrew has been making doodles of bacon during work meetings and giving them to our co-worker Karen, who at first greeted them in much the same way you would a cat who lays a dead bird at your feet: "Uhh...thanks?"
But soon a whole salty-smoky-pig-flavored visual language developed, and when he left the company last week, Andrew presented Karen with a bound version of all the silly-to-poignant doodles, along with commentary...which he had the foresight to also post online for all the world to enjoy.
Like I said, it's bacon, it's droll, and its 12 pages should waste at least 3 minutes of your workday.
So how about you? What do you like to doodle during your interminable work meetings? I've always been partial to the mysterious "transparent cube," myself:
"Whoa, is that the front, or the back...or both? Duuuuude. Oh, conference call's over!"

Hey now-
I always loved the doodles - I put them on my wall so I could look at them every day, for the love of Bacon! How can you not love Andrew's Jasper Johns-like interpretation of Bacon flags...or the Bacon-less date...etc etc True works of Genus! errr...Genius.
Doodles!? These are works of fine art.
Shhh, don't say that too loudly! I don't think we're allowed to have "fine" art round these here parts.
