There were many nights during my youth when Mom fired up the skillet and fried us up a box of 2cm thick Steak-Umm's. I totally devoured them - my doughboy childhood physique stands as proof. But years passed, Mom moved on to turkey burgers and I thought Steak-Umm went away. Turns out I was just looking in the wrong section of the frozen food aisle.

Steak-Umm, the pre-sliced, frozen, box of strip meat you panfry and eat are very much alive and kicking. And now they come in burger form. Steak-Umm is the official burger of the Baltimore Orioles (maybe that's why they suck) and has just been announced as a major sponsor of a NASCAR team. And it's a hit with the teens too.
"If you don't have mayo, the Steak-Umm ain't legit"
So, it seems the same thing that was true in 1981 remain true today, you can't say Yum without Steak-Umm! (And with a whopping 10 grams of fat per steak strip, why would you?)
