I've been somewhat immersed in corpses for the last month or so, so to speak. Seems like a body can't get no rest. If I may stoop to some shameless self-promotion, you're invited to check out my dead people trilogy at mental_floss.
Part one: 6 Restless Corpses, featuring the corpse that was put on trial.
Part two: 6 More Restless Corpses, including the guy who kept the woman he loved with him for years after her death.
Part three: 6 restless Corpses: Heads of State Edition, with a picture of Abraham Lincoln in his coffin.
I will now try to resume life among the living. Thank you.

I do hope that you remember it was common practice to photograph the dead when photography was young. It was considered a keepsake for the living. They even went as far as posing with them and paiting eyeballs on the eyelids. There are web pages out there that keep these photos and I have seen quite a few over the years. Pretty cool stuff.
