Knowing your boundaries

Tucked away at the bottom of this NY Post story about CNN anchor Richard Quest being caught in the park with a noose around his genitals, a sex toy in his boot and meth in his pcoket (and that's gonna make a great T Shirt), was this brilliant quote:

(Quest) was reportedly once offered a position for the English-language version of the controversial Al Jazeera network, but said he turned it down because being gay and Jewish, he didn't think it would be a good fit.

Hilarious.

If it's on CNN, it must be true

CNN have started selling T Shirts of their news headlines. It's a pretty cool idea, although shockingly easy to manipulate. (via Waxy)

Creative Tampon Ads

There was once a time (and I'm old enough to remember it) when such things weren't talked about. At all. In any fashion. If "sanitary products" were advertised at all, it was with indecipherable euphemisms and the assumption that women already know what they need to know. We kids wondered what it was about this amazing product that would make us suddenly able to swim and ride horses. But that was when there was only one brand of tampon, and one for "sanitary napkins". Now, tampons and pads must compete for your attention and brand recognition, so advertising is a must. There us still some of the "women will know what we're talking about" thing going on, but the imagery includes dams, swimming pools, and, um, beavers. Paul Anka rocks
4 Comments

In Jellio's Breakfast Links, he points out a Gawker post that features Paul Anka singing "Smells Like Teen Spirit". Funnily eough, it's a track that's been on my iPod for awhile. It comes from an album Anka did covering modern classics with a swing band called, appropriately enough, Rock swings (available on iTunes here). Covers include Wonderwall by Oasis, and Everybody Hurts by REM

Embedded above is my favorite track - Paul Anka puts a swing twist on Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden. You may disagree here (and probably will) but this SHOULD be terrible, but somehow, it kind of works.

In recent weeks we've featured a very wide variety of stories.

From ball busting to girls and corpses to
terrible stock photos as well as drinking placenta juice plus a new species has been discovered. While artists are banning together for Obama.

And all this got me thinking...

They're old (er) and they're frisky.

Lots of horny older women on NBC recently (look for the Morgan Fairchild/Kathleen Turner buddy cop sitcom soon) so I thought I'd post a couple for those that missed them.

From SNL, the Cougar Den taught me about Boniva and blow joys.

From 30 Rock, MILF Island, where implants roam free.

And as a bonus, AARP pin-up Jamie Lee Curtis has an accident on the couch.
