Commuting Suicide: Volume XXV

I'm not sure where she got the chain. Her pockets didn't appear large enough to hold such a long and heavy weapon. You'd think I'd be thinking other things while watching her whip the chain into the man's chest, but for some reason I was much more interested in spacial abnormalities.

Probe the Mines of Moria
mines.jpg

The Mines of Moria is the next module in the Lord of the Rings Online Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. Or LOTRO MMORPG which is shorter and more nerdy. The game won't be released till June but you can try to unlock the mine door with some mini games. See if you can defeat "Langfell" who is currently atop the leader board with 120 skill points.

The Feelies Reunite!

feelies.jpeg

The blogs are a-buzz about a Feelies reunion at Summerstage on July 4. Whatever with the Pixies, this is the reunion I've been wishing on for some time!

Previously on Lost: What?

Every week I sit down to enjoy another episode of Lost. And every week I end up looking across at my wife at some point and exclaiming "What??"

So it's good to see that's probably the desired effect.

Street Soccer
If soccer (football for you non-Americans) were this cool in real life, there'd be no war.

Passive Agressive Notes
PassiveAgressive.jpg

The 2008 Webby Award nominations came out this week, and for the 23rd straight year we've been suspiciously overlooked by the judging committee. But instead of crying into a frozen margarita once again, I decided to accept my station in life, and then scan the nominees for any sites I hadn't heard of...and I found a really great one.

When I saw the name Passive Agressive Notes, I thought it was just your average nonsense title, with no real tie to the content (Not that YesButNo doesn't have a deep, philisophical connection to everything we write) But upon further review I learned that is indeed what the site is...simply a collection of passive agressive notes. Are you kidding me...how cool is that?

Check it out, then try telling me it doesn't feel like having a conversation with one of your relatives.

...possibly the sickest offices I've ever seen, from the cable car cubicles to the underwater nap stations.

A few images after the jump, then see the rest at Swiss Miss.

Buy one, get one free
referral.jpg

Feeling left out because you're unable to be worthy of Black People Love Us? Never fear, the solution is at hand. Rent-a negro (and I think it's the first time I've ever used THAT word on this blog)is a new service allowing any WASP to get - or give - a black friend to a person in need. Seemingly a big hit with teachers and University professors nationwide.

For those on a tight budget, there's a sliding scale of costs (I wanted to say "Chinese Menu" but it seemed a little racist), including:

• Touch Skin: $125 each touch

•Call him/her "brotha," "bro," "brah," "sista," "girlfriend" or "gurrrl": $150 each time

• "Will You Tell Them I'm Not a Racist?": $1500 per vouch

Seen on the blog of a friend who since pulled it, probably in shame and disgust at tasteless satire. Luckily YBNBY has fewer qualms. Props to Damali Ayo.

Haterade's Idol Anal-ysis (Round of 8) - 4/8/08

Getting 3 out of 4 right in the finals with all 4 singers in the bottom two and on a 2 week correct streak is inspirational - well to Haterade, anyways. Let's see who he thinks the voters will inspire to boot off this week.

Breakfast Links

- Does anyone give a crap about a new Starbucks logo?
- The store in CBGB's old space has opened up already
- And more proof we're becoming a mall...so long Hog Pit.
- I can think of several uses for this paparazzi playset.
- And finally...here's a game I can sink my teeth into.
